CM PRESS # 555

UPDATE: QUARTZSITE, AZ. DECLARES A STATE OF EMERGENCY

Confusing situation in town.  Mayor claims the cops and the rest of the town council are in cahoots, are corrupt and are trying to cover up financial irregularities.

Police chief seems to fear Tea Party types in town.

OC REGISTER DISCOVERS THAT NEWPORT COPS GET AN ADDITIONAL $ 5,600 PER YEAR JUST TO WASH THEIR MOTORCYCLES

Nice work by the OC Register in finding more lard that is hidden in union contracts.

As the Register points out, this type of crap often goes unseen by the public because these contracts are negotiated behind closed doors.

The same type of closed door negotiations go on in Costa Mesa and most other cities.

When a City Council is bought by the unions, these sorts of hidden salary increases can easily be hidden from the public in contracts.

In Costa Mesa, at the present time, we only have one Councilmember--Wendy Leece--who is beholden to the unions.  If you watch Wendy's votes, you'll see that she almost always is the lone vote for what the unions want.

The unions should stay out of our politics.
