The State of Arizona is apparently now investigating what's going on in Quartzsite.

This is a story that could break big.

POLICE HELICOPTER SPECS

EUROCOPTER EC-120 (Helicopter that was used by CMPD)

HUGHES MD 520N (Flown by Huntington Beach PD)

ROBINSON (Cost effective and mfgd in Torrance)

The CM PRESS believes that a full review of the above helicopters will show that the Robinson is the least expensive helicopter to buy and operate, that its capabilities are on a close par with the more expensive helicopters, and that it can do the job that is required of a police helicopter in Costa Mesa.

PHONY CLASH OF THE COLUMNISTS CANCELLED

Yawn. No matter how much Barbara Venezia huffed and puffed and channeled Lucy's red hair dye, this was a loser from the start.  The excuse that this was called off because someone might make a legal claim is laughable.

Who might make a claim?  The two OCR scribblers trying to pump up their readership numbers?  A ring card girl? One of the two or three people who showed up to see a low budget Felix and Oscar pretend fight?  "Oh, look honey," whispers Mr. Rube in the audience as he nudges Mrs. Rube, "that's the one who Ms. Lucy's Red Hair Dye Channeler puffs as the beloved, rumpled, cigar chomping one, and that other one is prissy. Gosh, ain't this just swell? We get to see some home grown archetypes play acting that they're boxing."

  1. Agreed - there is something else going on here. Either that or the Register is the wimpiest company I've ever seen.
