CM PRESS SUGGESTIONS FOR TUESDAY'S PRIMARY

We've been critical of Romney, but after he recently appointed Kris Kobach as his Immigration Adviser, we're convinced that Romney will never support amnesty and will secure our borders.
Kobach was the lead attorney in defending the city of Hazleton, Pa. in its fight against illegal aliens who were screwing up that city and he's been a tireless supporter of turning back the illegal alien invasion.
By contrast, crazy, lying John McCain has surrounded himself with reconquistas who want open borders and amnesty.

DAILY PILOT INSULTS MAYOR PRO TEM MANSOOR FOR NO REASON
The DP today praised Mayor Bever for showing sympathy for the family of the 17-year-0ld who was stabbed to death in an apparent gang related fight on the Westside last week. So far so good. LINK
The DP should have stopped right there.
Instead, the DP just couldn't resist taking a gratutious swipe at Mayor Pro Tem Mansoor who did not show the correct level of sympathy, according to the DP, after an earlier gang related killing last year.
Unless Bever and the City Council start taking the right actions to rid this city of gangs, the DP will probably get to praise Bever for his sympathy many more times before 2008 ends.
This is not a time for Costa Mesa to get soft. It is time to take tough action against the criminals who are endangering citizens of this city.
One has to wonder if the DP thinks it can divide improvers by praising one and insulting the other? Does the DP think it sees a weakness on Bever's part that it thinks it can capitalize on by praising him?
If this is the case, we think the DP is mistaken. The difference between Bever and Mansoor, as far as we can tell, is not one in which Bever is a weak sister who can be coopted by the enemies of real improvement, but rather it is one of having a slightly different way of doing things.
Bever's iron improvement fist may be covered with a velvet glove, while some may think Mansoor's is not, but that's about the only difference between them as far as improving the city goes.
While it may seem to some that Mansoor has a somewhat harder improvement edge than Bever, it should be remembered that Bever is not a Johnny-come-lately to improvement but was one of the first improvers. Without Bever, there probably would be no improvement movement as it now exists.
Mansoor came along later after he attended an improver meeting organized by Bever.
And, we're here to tell you that Bever doesn't mind doing the nitty gritty work to get this city back on track.
Whenever we get cynical--as we do about most politicians--and start thinking that Bever is just in it for the glory, we remember how we saw him standing all alone in front of Home Depot handing out fliers for an improvement meeting. And, we remember seeing him setting up chairs, getting coffee and donuts and doing the other grunt work during the above mentioned improver meeting.
The point we're making is that if the DP and its lib pals think they can blow smoke up Bever's shorts, or drive wedges between Bever and Mansoor and other real improvers to derail real improvement, they're probably in for a big surprise.
This is not to say that we don't think Bever won't make mistakes or that he is totally immune from the sweet talking suits who want to romance politicians, but, we think, on balance, that Bever will use his time on the City Council to help break the stranglehold of the status quo libs who have been turning this city into an illegal alien sanctuary and Third World dump full of gangs and their support structures.
We're also confident that Mr. Mansoor will continue to work hard for improving this city and that he'll continue to be unflappable and focused no matter what insults the DP and the usual insipid and intellectually bankrupt nitwits throw his way.
