SOME CITY EMPLOYEES HURTING ALL CITY EMPLOYEES

Can it be that Costa Mesa has a few employees who are so dumb or so arrogant as to think that they can threaten, insult and try to intimidate the present City Council into backing down and stop working to right our financial ship?

Yes, apparently it can be.  Just read some of  the anonymous comments over at the Daily Pilot written by some people who are obviously City employees including cops.

The only thing that these employees are accomplishing is to piss off a lot of ordinary citizens of Costa Mesa (as well as Council members, we bet) and harden their hearts.

Remember how the nasty campaign against Jim Righeimer waged by some out of town cops backfired?

We think the same thing is happening now.

But now, the backfire is with a capital B.

Remember that large A Frame sign (pictured) that a couple of  out of town cops pulled around Costa Mesa behind a Cadillac Escalade?

All it did was anger voters and firm up Righeimer's support.

A couple of errors in the story, but no big deal. We'll let the writer catch and correct them.

CITY TRYING TO GET ITS MONEY OUT OF REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY--FAST
The Costa Mesa Redevelopment Agency--the five regular City Council members wearing different hats--has called a special meeting today, March 25, at 4 p.m. to vote on paying the City $1.5 million on its outstanding loan of $ 10.3 million.

IN PLAIN ENGLISH: The state wants to eliminate all city redevelopment agencies and grab their money for the state.

Costa Mesa, and many other cities, are trying to act fast to get their money out of their redevelopment agencies before the state legislature votes to do the dirty deed.

OUT OF TOWN LEFTY CREEPS ARE TRYING TO DETERMINE IF A RECALL OF THE GOOD COUNCIL MEMBERS WILL WORK.  THEY'RE CALLING AROUND NOW TO GAUGE PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR A RECALL.  IF YOU GET A CALL, LET US KNOW THE DETAILS.

Here's one problem they have.  If they do put a recall on a special ballot, they'll open the door for a recall of their pal Windy Leece.

Our prediction:  Windy will be recalled.  The good Council members won't be.

Our reading of the good Council members is that they aren't easily bullied, and they push back harder when they're pushed.  Let's see if the fact that the lefty creeps are considering a recall gets a big push back.

PART OF THE REASON WHY LEFTIES ARE ALWAYS SURPRISED BY POLITICAL THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN COSTA MESA

One of the biggest stories to happen in Costa Mesa in recent months was the meeting last night of the Costa Mesa Taxpayers Association.

However, as of this writing, there hasn't been a single word about the meeting in the Daily Pilot.

As you know, the CM PRESS wrote about it days before it happened and we urged folks to attend.

But, you lefties reading this say, "Millard that wasn't news.  Why, it was just some people getting together to complain about taxes.  Hey, we hear that kind of stuff all the time from righties. The real big news was covered by that other blogger, the lefty guy with the mystery stuff under his shirt. You know, the whiny, chicken little guy.  Why, he used big superlatives to describe this and that, and he wrote (as usual) about how horrible he thinks the new City Council is and how Costa Mesa is  going to fall off the edge of this flat planet (just as it was supposed to do by closing down the illegal alien job center). And, he did pass on a last minute tip about the Costa Mesa Tax Association (probably after he read about it in the CM PRESS), and he also passed on that tip to the usual lefty blogs and they all linked to his site as a hat tip because he's so tuned in.

"And, hey, Millard, the Daily Pilot did run a big story about three liberals who called a press conference in front of City Hall.  Now, that's front page stuff."

Well, lefties, you're wrong. Again.  If you weren't so busy licking the boots of other lefties, you might have a sense of what's really going on around you. And, you'd be able to pick the fly specks out of the pepper.  As it is, though, you have no proper perspective.  You can't tell what is important locally and what isn't. Fly specks and pepper all look the same to you.

The CM PRESS has been right about politics in Costa Mesa since 1999 when we first started publishing.

Have you forgotten how Chris Steel got elected in 2000, and how the lefties thought we must have stuffed the ballot box or something because no one thought he could get elected?  In fact, as you may recall, with our help, and the help of the Improvers, Steel came in Number 1 in that election, and that was after he had lost nine times before.

Well, we could go on, but we do want to see you lefties remain in your perpetual fog.  And, we'll continue to remain several moves ahead of you.

Keep reading that guy's blog for what you think is going on.  Then, get ready to slap your forehead (again) and say: "We didn't see that coming. What the...how did that happen?"

Oh, get ready to slap your forehead again.  Something is about to happen.

You see, a weather man isn't very good if he can't distinguish between the clouds with rain in them from the ones that are dry.

  1. I was at the meeting last night. It was packed. CMTax raised over $3,000 last night. Also, if there is a boycott of Shosh's, it didn't show. Besides the meeting all the rest of the tables were full and there was a roudy crowd at the bar watching the NCAA tournament.

  2. The city employees union has been literally taking food out of the mouths of our children, and now they are threatening our city officials with physical harm. Taxpayers have simply GOT to rise up and rid Costa Mesa of that union, and it's members. They are a plague that is slowly, but surely destroying this city.

Outside services are the only way to go in the future. City employees are far more trouble than they are worth! For instance, Paychex (as well as other payroll companies) can do a payroll for next to nothing. Why pay BIG bucks for the same service provided by city employees?

Likewise, the Sheriff's Dept. is capable of providing the same service as our city police, and at a much lower cost. The Fire Department is the only service I would hesitate to farm out, only because they need to be very close to the source of fires, heart attacks, etc.

As for the maintenance duties, there is a virtual army of unemployed people out there who would be more than willing to do those jobs at 1/3 rd the cost, with no pension demands.

  3. To Mad: When the fire department is farmed out, all that will happen is that the County will take over the same old firestations and many of the same firefighters will man them.

One or two stations may be closed as being not needed, but that's about it.

It's mostly just a paper transfer that saves us money.

I heard a woman recently express concern that our firefighters would have to come here on emergency calls from Mission Viejo or someplace as a result of outsourcing.

    That's not what will happen.

  4. Every time someone slams our Council members, calls them outrageous names or accuses them of nonsense like murderers, just flag their post using "Report Abuse" and/or contact the DP webmaster Jamie.

Yes, it is possible to fight back. We don’t have to stand for this anymore. Those bloggers have been warned for the last time and will be permanently banned.

Regarding CM Tax Association, it is going to be an outstanding organization. All fans of CM Press should sign up and become active. The cost is minimal and this will allow us an effective way to organize and fight back.

Thanks to the CM Press for helping get the word out.

  5. To Frustrated Also: Actually, threats should not be ignored. The people making them need to be investigated (not by the CMPD,though).

And,as far as the libelous statements go, it's always difficult for public officials to pursue those, but we've seen a few libelous statements that at least one of our elected officials might want to pursue.

In addition, some of the haters and bigots appear to work for the City, so their computers at work should be checked, and a few other things should be done and probably are being done or will be done (Shhhhhh).

  6. People need to keep in mind that the children of our city council members, and other city officials, are reading these blogs. Those children are suffering beyond anyone's comprehension. Their fathers are their heroes so it hurts them just as much as though the anger was directed at them.

These children are going to be scarred for life, just because some of our greedy city employees think name calling and threats are cool. Those employees should be fired immediately, not just laid off.

  7. The nasty blog comments could be coming from none other than the CMPD. Remember the stink eye incident and their related efforts to throw the past election? When cops go bad they tend to be brutal. They think they are immune from scrutiny.

Speaking of the CMPD, are they even bothering to investigate the death of that city worker? He could have encountered some whacko with a baseball bat, or been pushed from the roof. People keep talking about it but no one seems to know anything. There was no official word on the matter. In fact the subject seems to be taboo. Go figure!

  8. Gus,

Perhaps the CMPD should interview Utterly the wack job.

  9. Mr. Millard: I had to smile at your suggestion that the threats need to be investigated by the police. Is that before or after they finish the "stinkeye" investigation?
