CM PRESS # 664

CM4RG TRIES TO FOOL VOTERS INTO THINKING THE GROUP IS NON-PARTISAN

It depends on how you define partisan and non-partisan.

It may be "non-partisan" in the sense that liberal Democrats and liberal Republicans can be members, but its partisanship is revealed in its very "liberal" and even "left-wing" and anti-improvement allegiance. The key word is liberal, not Democrat or Republican.

THEY ARE LIBERALS! THEY ARE LEFTIES!  THEY ARE EXTREMISTS!  THEY ARE AGAINST IMPROVEMENT AND ARE FOR ALL THE THINGS THAT MAKE LIFE WORSE FOR TRADITIONAL CITIZENS OF COSTA MESA!

Some members and supporters of CM4RG or like minded individuals regularly show up at city council meetings to push their anti-improvement agenda and candidates.

Some individuals associated with, or who are in support of this group and its goals have been known to shout down speakers at city council meetings, sing insulting songs instead of addressing the council, and engage in similar activities.

City Council candidate Harold Weitzberg's daughter is married to the son of Robin Leffler, the leader of CM4RG. Weitzberg bragged in a Daily Pilot letter  [HERE] that he helped shout down a speaker at a city council meeting.

Is Weitzberg a serious candidate?  Maybe not.  He may just be a stalking horse angling for a seat on the Planning Commission.  The clue will be whether or not Weitzberg actually follows through with his announced run for the city council.  Our guess is that he'll pull out before his name appears on the ballot and tell everyone he supports the lefty retreads Foley and Humphrey.

If CM4RG or its candidates take back the city council, you can count on them trying to stop the improvement that we are seeing in Costa Mesa as they try to turn back the clock to a time when council members acted as mindless mushrooms who did nothing but show up for meetings, rubber stamp whatever staff put in front of them, smile, scratch their butts, collect their checks, and go home.

The Righeimer Council that is giving the screwball lefties such panic attacks is activist and has been implementing the Westside Plans. As a result, we're seeing great improvements in our city as this new attitude of fixing broken Costa Mesa gains steam.

The Eastside today is already the new Newport Beach.  That wasn't the case just a few years ago.

East 17th Street is now considered to be a hip street--you may have seen it called that in newspapers.  It wasn't the case just a few years ago.

New homes are being built on the Westside that are attracting upwardly mobile people who might otherwise have gone to Newport or Irvine or South County. They never would have considered the Westside a few years ago.

And, so it goes, just as some of the insider Improvers had envisioned when we started improvement back in the very late 1990's and early 2000's.  The plan then, is what is being implemented now, thanks to the Righeimer Council.  And, just as it was envisioned, the Westside improvements and the attitude and vision behind them are spreading all across Costa Mesa.

As time goes on, we'll see more drops in crime, fewer gangs and improved schools.

A city is its people.  Attract upwardly mobile people and a city improves.  Attract downwardly mobile people and a city heads toward skid row status.
