SMALL TOWN BIGOTRY ON DISPLAY IN BOISE, OKLAHOMA

Ignorant bigots hold town meeting over their concerns that some Fundamentalist Mormons have moved to their town.
Imagine if a few words were changed in the above linked article. How about if Jews moved to the town? Wouldn't you expect to see lots of outrage and perhaps even the Dept.of Justice moving in to investigate the bigots in the town?
How about gays or Muslims moving to the town?
Bigots and haters never change. They just change their targets to reflect what society says is okay to hate.
Several decades ago, the earlier versions of these present haters and bigots would probably have held town meetings about a few Jews or gays or Muslims moving to their town.
Below is a quote from the above linked story. See how a premise is established that somehow these Fundamentalist Mormons are going to victimize kids in the town? This is absurd and it's the way hate mobs start.
Similar things were often said about Jews in Europe in earlier centuries where rumors were spread that Jews were killing non-Jewish children and using their blood in Jewish rituals.

WANT TO RUN FOR THE COSTA MESA CITY COUNCIL?If you're one of the haters who moan and whine at every little thing the three men on the council do, why don't you try to get elected so you can do better?

How about some of you disgusting over the hill lefty women who keep mouthing off and who put photos of yourselves--taken 40 years ago--with your Daily Pilot comments? Why aren't you running for the council?
Are you too chicken? Are you cowards? You like to sit back and complain about the men on the council as though they are your hen pecked husbands (if you even have husbands) and who you expect to just silently take your insults quietly like mouse men. "Yes, dear. No, dear. Alright, dear." And, when the men on the council act like men and ignore you or tell you to buzz off, you screwballs get even more neurotic.
Jump in, you big mouth over the hill lefty crackpot women. Jump in.
If you have ideas to improve Costa Mesa or have gripes about the way things are going, the best way to get your issues noticed is to run for the City Council.
Then, you'll automatically get press time and you'll be invited to all of the candidate debates (they're not really debates, but a chance to tell voters what you want).
Even if you don't raise any money or really run a campaign, running for the City Council puts you and your issues on the front page.
Local politics is where YOU, yes, little old YOU, can make a difference. Trying to change state and national politics is like howling at the moon, but in local politics, YOU can really have an impact--but, YOU have to get into the game. YOU have to jump into the arena of ideas and not just sit in the audience.
Want slower growth? Want less traffic? Want to try to stop Banning Ranch? Want to save Fairview Park? Want more government? Want less government? Want more affordable housing? Want to remove the slums? Want more attention to your neighborhood? Want more businesses? Want fewer businesses? Want fewer group homes? -- RUN FOR THE COUNCIL!!
It's not that difficult.
You must get your nomination papers in by August 8, 2014, so get moving today.

City Council candidates must be at least eighteen years old and a registered

The nomination period for these offices begins on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 8:00
