Expert says it's like the Third World. Of course it is, and those Third World conditions are spreading all across once mostly White America as the number of Whites as a percentage of the population drops.

And, exactly what does this hater mean when he writes "and I am coming after all of you ;)"?

Howard yep I am a hater, I hate how your council buddies are over developing and ruining our quality of life. I hate how they can not be honest and upfront with their intentions (CHUMP). I hate how they say the westside has the best property but support the worst projects. With all that hate I can tell you that I will do all that I can to destroy their political careers. In my eyes if you are ruining my beloved city/home I will call you an idiot, kook, moron.. and I am coming after all of you ;).
Here's the whole column with all the comments including the one above from McEvoy.
What's this failed council candidate's gripe? Apparently, he doesn't like the improvements being brought in under the Westside Plans.
Folks, the Westside has for decades been the worst side of Costa Mesa. Most intelligent people know this.
There are seven Latino gangs over there (Source: CMPD report).
A girl was shot on Shalimar by a gang member.
In fact, concrete barriers were put up to slow drug deals and other criminal activity on Shalimar. Strong arm robberies were common. The Westside was a no-go area for most citizens.
The Westside was also going down hill very fast. That's when activist citizens rose up and demanded the municipal government act to help fix the broken Westside. And, after many months of meetings of ordinary citizens, the Westside Plans were formulated. They were/are the blueprint to fix the broken Westside.
You can access the Westside Plans over on your right on this blog.
As part of those plans, and to prime the pump of revitalization using private money and not tax money, the development pot was sweetened with some attractive density bonuses and other concessions so developers would risk their own money to put in some modern housing to replace some slums.
And, that is what is going on now on the Westside. And, yes, building in an area with a bad reputation and gangs and crime is a risk.
The developers who are being insulted by some of the haters should actually be given awards for risking THEIR money. Yup, they're putting millions of dollars into helping fix the Westside. No, they're not being altruistic. They hope to make a profit. And, some of the haters are so ignorant about the way business works, they even complain that developers may make a profit. How stupid can they be? Don't we all work to try to make a profit? Are the developers supposed to do things for free?
Developers often go broke. The lead time from when they start assembling parcels, going through government requirements, doing the various studies required, etc. is often long and the real estate market can change markedly from what it was when they started. So, they almost have to use a crystal ball and pray that the market will still be there when their projects are finished and ready for sale.
And, we'd like to see all these know-nothings who are attacking devlopers really protest by moving out of every home built by developers in Costa Mesa. What would the result of this be? Virtually everyone in Costa Mesa would be homeless and almost all of the homes in Costa Mesa would be empty. Homes don't grow like mushrooms.
We encourage Chris McEvoy to run for city council. If you believe, McEvoy, as strongly as you claim to believe, in your vision for the Westside and Costa Mesa, then you should run for city council again. Or, are you just all bluster?

McEvoy is the closest thing to a homeless person we have in Costa Mesa politics. What troubles me is that this guy is polluting our kids with his non-sense. Who would want that guy teaching their child?? Thank goodness he teaches somewhere in LA, and not here.
