We think so. And, as we wrote before, we think it may also be affecting the health of some of the spouses of some of the haters and bigots. Second hand hate and bigotry, like second hand smoke, can affect others.
We were even going to make some predictions about this based on our observations, instincts and probabilities, but we've decided to let it just go with what we've already written.
If we're right, you'll read about it in the newspapers or blogs.
Just as there is power in positive thinking that is good for us, there is power in negative thinking that is bad for us.

NEW DISCOVERY: GENETIC LINK FOUND BETWEEN A MUTATION OF THE CHD8 GENE AND AUTISM
Genes are us.
If you understand that behind everything concerning "the way organisms are," there is a genetic link of some kind, you'll also go a long way to understanding the so-called human condition and why various humans are the way they are or do the things they do.

EASY READ ARTICLE ON ULTRA-ORTHODOX JEWS IN ISRAEL LEAVING THEIR TRADITIONS AND PRIOR BELIEFS
It's the same type of article we often see about Fundamentalist Mormons or Muslims or members of other insular religious groups deciding that they no longer believe what they've been taught all their lives and who then strike out into the secular world on their own.
Unlike similar articles about other faiths, we especially liked this one because it is well written and presents a fair view of the universal phenomenon of lost faith and the adoption of a view of reality that is often based on reason and free thinking rather than on dogma and cult like obedience to particular religious views.
Worth a read.

INDEPENDENCE DAY
Today, just about all Americans puff up their chests about how this country declared independence from faraway rulers in England. However, the reality is that back during that time, many early Americans--Loyalists--wanted to stay yoked to England. They didn't think we could govern ourselves.
These days in Costa Mesa we have the modern counterparts of those Loyalists who want our city to stay yoked to faraway rulers in Sacramento. These present day Loyalists figure that we can't govern ourselves in Costa Mesa. Why, we're just like little children here and we need the adults up in Sacramento to tell us what we can and can't do.
Vote for the charter, folks. It gives us a little more freedom. Metaphorically, the charter allows us to control the thermostat and the TV and the heat of the water in the shower in our own homes instead of letting politicians in Sacramento who can't even find Costa Mesa on a map micro-control our city.
And, speaking of those who don't want us to control our own city, the article below, while about a different issue, has three of the anti-charter--Loyalists to Sacramento--people shown:

COSTA MESA LATINO GANG MEMBERS ARRESTED
Do these Latino gang members--mentioned in the CMPD press release below--represent the "soul" of Costa Mesa that self identified Dumb Biker Billy Folsom whines we are losing by improving the Westside and the rest of the city?
| Terri Fuqua |
![]() |
| Karin Ahlf |
And, BTW, in addition to the CMPD press release directly below about the arrest of the Latino gang members, there's an article today in the Daily Pilot [HERE] about some more Latinos from Costa Mesa pulling a knife on people in Newport Beach. Makes you proud about the soul of Costa Mesa, right Billy?
Dumb Biker, most people probably agree with you and your self assessment. Yes, we know you use that self-description as if to wink and say, "Aw, shucks I sure am dumb, but I sure outsmarted them thar smart fellers, that went to college, yuck, yuck, yuck." And this, because you were apparently involved in the past with some union negotiations with former roll-over and give away the store negotiators from the city. That was like taking candy from a baby. Now, the City is using real negotiators.
And, watch out Fuqua and Ahlf, those "supremists" are going to make Costa Mesa a safe and desirable city where we can live in peace and tranquility and raise our kids without fearing that they will be attacked by Latino gangs and other criminals.
BY THE WAY: If Folsom, Fuqua or Ahlf want to comment about this, please use our comment form below. If you make any sense in your comments we'll publish them (of course, we will also comment on your comments). So, man up Billy, and woman up Ahlf and Fuqa. Send us your comments--under your own names please. Tell us about the "soul" of Costa Mesa that you want to keep, Billy. And, do tell us about those "supremists," Fuqua and Ahlf.
*"Supremists," (sic) is a term used by Fuqua and Ahlf in their recent comments after another comment in the Daily Pilot in which the commenter praised The Righeimer Council for helping improve Costa Mesa and making it a safer and more desirable place in which we can raise our families.

Community: Robbery/Commercial Burglary Arrest
On July 2, 2014 at about 4:20 p.m., a subject identified as
Rene Ramirez entered the Arco Gas station/Mini-Mart at 2021 Newport Blvd, going
directly to the beer cooler. Ramirez removed an 18-pack of beer from the cooler
and exited the store without making any attempt to pay from merchandise. A
store employee saw Ramirez, who has had a large scar on the left side of his
head, and recognized him from having previously attended the same school.
Ramirez fled the area on foot and no other suspects were seen.
Later that evening, at about 7:20 p.m., patrol officers responded to a reported robbery at the US Gas station and Mini-Mart located at 2502 Harbor Blvd. There they contacted the manager, who had been assaulted, sustaining minor abrasions/contusions/small cuts to his head, face and arms. The victim/manager reported that two male suspects entered the gas station and went directly to the beer cooler. One suspect removed two 18-packs of beer and the second suspect removed one 18-pack of beer. Both suspects exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. One of these subjects was later identified as Rene Ramirez (same suspect from the prior burglary at the Arco Mini-Mart), and the other suspect was determined to be a 15-year-old (name not being released).
These two suspects, upon exiting with the beer, met with Raymond Magallanez in the parking lot and handed him one of the 18-packs. The manager followed the suspects out of the store, seeing that there were now three suspects as they began walking north along the Harbor Blvd. sidewalk. He chased after the suspects and was able to grab onto one of 18-packs. A struggle ensued and the 18-pack of beer opened, causing the manager to fall to the ground along with the beer. As the victim was on the ground all three suspects turned and began to hit and kick him, with one suspect also picking up a beer can, which he threw at the victim striking him. The three suspects fled, running north on Harbor Blvd.
Citizen witnesses, seeing what was occurring, followed the suspects to an apartment complex at 400 Merrimac while calling 911. On-duty detectives and patrol officers contacted and identified all three suspects, who were then arrested.
The victim was provided initial treatment at the scene by Costa Mesa Fire personnel, however declined any further medical attention.
Suspects Ramirez and Magallanez were transported to the Costa Mesa Jail and subsequently booked into the Orange County Jail for suspicion of robbery by force and commercial burglary. Both are known street gang members affiliated with Costa Mesa and Riverside gangs.
The 15-year-old male arrested was subsequently transported and booked into the Orange County Juvenile Hall for the same charges. His possible affiliation with any street gang is being investigated further.
There is no further information for release, nor are any photos of the arrestees being released at this time.
Any persons with information regarding either of these incidents is encouraged to contact the Costa Mesa Police Investigations Bureau at: (714) 754-5205 or

what a motley crew of complainers. they look like they have led bad lives and have found fellow soul mates to together complain about achievers. Got on V too! haha. Never a bright idea amongst them. it is amusing when all they have is a DG path complaint that is driving them crazy. Makes me smile. They think they know who did it by piecing together two things: it was done by people to help the kids and thus it can't be one of them since they have never done anything for the kids. And they choose a microscopic thing over kids. very telling. But the Mayor pro tem has done a lot for kids for many years. Thus, he is guilty. If so, thanks sir. one little corner of dirt covered by more dirt where there might be a microscopic critter no one has ever seen? After years of abuse of larger vernal pool areas at the park- this sticks in their craw? LOL. Stay with it minions, it is the ultimate shiny object that no one cares about but your band of complainers. Meanwhile a lot of great things are happening in our city that they have done nothing but try to stop. not a tough call on who to vote for in November. Riggy wins big time. it will be a beautiful night in November. Foley may sneak in but she will be much more fun to watch than Wendy when her meltdowns start. probably will resign two years into her term again after Mayor Mensinger puts her through the grinder and she decides it was much easier to bully the school board folks. The school board is celebrating her leaving but hold on there, she may be back. Maybe not though, she already moved her kid to CdMHS, skipping over others in line.
