They have to ensure their continued employment by finding lots of things wrong with properties.
This means that they have to be very nitpicky.
When notices of violations and citations are issued, neighbors begin thinking that they have been singled out by some other neighbor, and they often retaliate by calling code enforcement on other homes in the neighborhood.
This creates distrust and problems among neighbors and causes people of all political stripes to get angry at our elected officials.
This gives an easy issue to those who want to unseat the present politicians.
