This proposed project with 29 Townhome style live/work units is directly across the street from Trader Joe's.
While the project looks nice, we have a couple of problems with it, as follows:
1. The "work" element of each unit is about the size of a double car garage (read small). Now, this is okay for the live/work designation, but we think many of us are hoping that we'll get some developers who will bring in some work/live proposals. To be clear: In the live/work designation--"live" is prominent. In the work/live designation, this is reversed and the living quarters are smaller while the working area is larger.
2. This project forms an "L" around a large, prime, vacant corner lot and may affect the highest and best use way this lot can be developed; both to the detriment of the owners of the lot and the City.
