BLACKS TO MARCH IN D.C. THIS WEEKEND AGAINST AMNESTY

Actually, this march might be more meaningful if the stuff on the above linked Website didn't look like the product of some latter day YAFers.

LINK BETWEEN LOW VITAMIN D BLOOD LEVELS AND HEART DISEASE VARIES BY RACE   BY SOCIAL CONSTRUCT   BY RACE

Yes, race is a reality.  It is not a social construct.

Race is to human as breed is to dog as variety is to rose.

BILL O'REILLY SAYS U.S. CRIME RATE HIGH BECAUSE OF "YOUNG BLACK MEN"

Are some of the White elites now losing their fear of telling the truth, that the CM PRESS has been telling for years?

THE CHARTER COMMITTEE

The CM PRESS went to the Charter Committee meeting last night and we stayed for about an hour.

Of the thirteen people on the Committee, we figure about eight of them are liberals.  These were the ones who--during an introduction exercise put on by the facilitators--replied that they like Costa Mesa because of its "diversity" (most actually used that word), or who used some substitute for the word diversity.

One of the members of the Committee, Harold Weitzberg, tried to get the Committee to hold off on writing a charter and instead decide if they should even write a charter at all.  This attempt--which many believe was really an attempt to kill off a charter--was parroted by Robin Leffler, a member of the public and not a member of the Committee, during public comments. Leffler's son, as you may know, is married to one of Weitzberg's daughters. Robin? Birds of a feather?

What Weitzberg and Leffler both tried to do to justify their position was to go back to an off the cuff comment made by Mayor Righeimer during a recent City Council meeting in which the mayor said something about the Committee deciding whether or not we need a charter.

Leffler, during her public comments, even said that she had sent a link (or maybe a video copy) to the two facilitators about this.  Now, this just shows how Robin, an otherwise nice lady, picks the fly specks out of the pepper.  She did this at almost every City Council meeting earlier this year when she kept asking Mayor Righeimer who he meant by "we" when he spoke of certain things from the dais.  Actually, most of us understood the mayor was using the so-called royal "we," as we often do here at the CM PRESS, but Leffler was apparently convinced that there was some sort of conspiracy or violation of the Brown Act going on. This had no legs and we haven't heard her bring this up for some time now.

Facilitator Kirk Bauermeister, did a good and efficient job of putting the talk of deciding whether or not to write a charter to rest when he replied to Weitzberg and Leffler that the record shows that the City Council voted to have the Committee write a charter, and that one councilmember (the mayor) seemingly saying something different doesn't change the will of the Council.

Our overall impression is that the Committee is going to have to move much faster than they did last night if they are to ever complete a charter.

We were also impressed by the professionalism of Bauermeister, the City Clerk, and the former City Attorney who all kept things on track and didn't let the meeting devolve into unfocused and out of left field talk among the Committee members.
