CM PRESS # 629

U.S. CITIZENSHIP HATER RICK PERRY DOES LOUSY IN FLORIDA STRAW POLL

Hey Perry, you lousy bum, maybe you can get illegal aliens to vote for you.  After all, you give them lower tuition in Texas colleges than U.S. citizens.

COSTA MESA HAS MOST RENTERS OF ORANGE COUNTY'S 15 LARGEST CITES

Long time readers of the CM PRESS already know the above, but the linked article in the OC Register may serve as a reminder about one of the reasons Costa Mesa is having trouble improving.

As you now, the CM PRESS has been pushing the New Council (and the Old Councils before it) to start buying up slum apartment buildings in the city and tearing them down in favor of pocket parks or parking lots or anything but more apartments.

Every time we bring it up, we get poor mouth talk from the Councils (New and Old).  The reality is that if the Councils would get their priorities straight and work as hard on getting rid of the slum apartment buildings as they did in putting in a million dollar bike trail that only a few people use, we'd be on the road to a nicer city.

ANOTHER ARTICLE ABOUT NEUTRINOS POSSIBLY GOING FASTER THAN LIGHT

Time to throw away all physics books and dis Albert Einstein?

Maybe, but scientists want verification of what it appears they've discovered before the present thinking on the way the universe is supposed to work is discarded as being as wrong as the old thinking that the Earth is flat.

FOOTBALL:  CMHS MUSTANGS BEAT OCEAN VIEW 34-31

The Mustangs have a good offense, but defense still needs some work.  Ocean View shouldn't have gotten anywhere near 31 points.

You may recall that when the Mustangs met Katella last week, the Mustangs came away with 56 points to Katella's 42 points.  Again, this shows that the Mustang defense isn't stopping other teams' offense.

Never fear, CMHS football fans, we know that Mustangs' Head Coach Grant has some players who, due to scheduling and other minor problems, still haven't suited up yet, but they should be ready for next week's game against La Quinta, which will be played at Jim Scott Stadium. That's next Friday, 9/30/11 with a 7 p.m. kick off.  You can buy tickets at Jim Scott Stadium that night.  There are plenty of seats in the stadium and easy free parking in the Estancia High School parking lot immediately adjacent to the stadium.

  1. I think there is something to like about all the GOP candidates except for one.

I never liked Perry from the moment I heard him speak. I don’t find him very intelligent and not someone I would trust to do what he says. I believe the democrats love him because Obama could easily beat him. Perry's position in Texas giving big discounts toward education for children of illegal immigrants was the final straw. There are much better candidates and he won't get my vote.
