CM PRESS # 608

WHAT OBAMA  SHOULD  SAY IN HIS JOBS SPEECH--BUT WON'T (FIRST DRAFT)

My fellow Americans, the time for talk is over.  It is time to work.

We've been on the wrong track in this country for several decades, and the results of that wrong track show in the jobless rate and the financial difficulties so many Americans are facing.

The American dream has become the American nightmare to too many of our citizens.

That has to change.

The purpose of a government is to serve the people.  It has no other purpose. If the people are hurting, then the government is not doing its job.

A just and good government of the people must act in the best interests of the people.  Good intentions are meaningless unless they result in good effects; theories are useless unless they prove themselves.

So, I'm announcing tonight that we're taking a new direction.  We're going to reindustrialize America.  We're going to start making things again.  We're going to start farming again.  We're going to start raising livestock again. We're going to start exporting more and importing less.  We're going to compete as we once competed.

To get us back on the right track,we're going to cut regulations and needless paperwork.  We're going to free up private enterprise.  We're going to listen to the people and the business leaders and we're going to be more responsive than we've ever been before.

Etc.

WORST PERFORMING STUDENTS IN THE NMUSD ARE IN COSTA MESA

Read the above Daily Pilot article (that's our headline above, not the DP's) about API scores, then come back and read our views on this below.

OUR VIEWS:

The Daily Pilot  headline is "District's AP score up, but some schools have dipped."

We think our own above headline on this column is more accurate than the DP's.  It's not those darn "schools" whose API scores have dipped.  And, it's also not the fault of the administration or the teachers.  It is the students who take the tests who determine the API scores.

It's a red herring and a misnomer to say some "schools" are worse than others.

Again, it is the students in the schools who take the tests who determine the API scores of those schools.

Check the demographics of the schools listed (HERE) and see if you can figure out why some students are scoring high and some low.  See any patterns?

The reality is that the low scores of students in some schools  have nothing to do with the school buildings, the teachers, the administrators or even the school district.

They have EVERYTHING to do with the City of Costa Mesa not improving fast enough to attract upwardly mobile families here.

We have to have constant improvement.  Starting with the Westside.

Improve the neighborhoods to attract upwardly mobile families and the school API scores will go up.

Fail to improve the neighborhoods and the scores will keep going down and the area will be in a death spiral to permanent Third World status.

COSTA MESA ESP

I knew a guy once who would unwittingly walk right into the middle of bar fights getting ready to happen and he'd get slugged. This and similar things happened to this guy all the time.

I kid you not.

It was as though he not only didn't have a sixth sense, but that his usual five senses also weren't very well tuned.

He simply wasn't able to pick up on vibes or currents in the air and was unable to see the most probable trajectory of events given those vibes and currents, and to make adjustments to his own trajectory for his own benefit.

I bring this up because I'm constantly amused at some of the crap I see coming from some lefty bloggers and commenters in Costa Mesa and how some others give them credit for the absolute nonsense they write about what is happening in Costa Mesa and where things are going.

But I'm not newly amused by this.  As I've written before, I've been laughing about this at least since the elections of 2000 when the Improvers started putting the chess pieces in place to bring in improvement to Costa Mesa.

And, in each election, candidates supported by the Improvers have won, and usually against big money and big names on the other side.  This has happened in EVERY election since 2000.

When the Improvers got nine times defeated, and brunt of local jokes, Chris Steel elected--but not just elected, Steel got more votes than anyone else running--the press was all over me asking how we did it.  I just smiled  (if you can call that subtle thing my face does with slightly upturned lips a smile).  I'm still smiling.

But, it's not just about local elections that the lefties have been wrong.  They're also wrong about what's happening now in Costa Mesa.  They simply seem incapable of picking up the vibes and the currents and they don't understand the trajectories of where things are headed.

It really is a little like a chess game.  If you want to win, you have to be able to think many steps ahead and "know" the probabilities of what the other side will do so that you can guide the trajectory of the game with minor moves and corrections.

The righties who want an improved Costa Mesa seem to have that ability to read the vibes and currents and the lefties who are for the status quo seem to lack that ability.

Extra Sensory Perception?  Nope.  It's just being able to process information correctly and knowing what to do to subtly and unobtrusively guide slight moves here and there so that twenty moves ahead something happens that you knew was likely to happen if  nineteen subtle prior moves were made in the right direction.

As I've written before, don't listen to the lefties, they have small misshapen brains.

They walk into bar fights getting ready to happen and they get slugged.

And, they're about ready to get slugged again because (REDACTED), and then (REDACTED) which will lead to Mr. (REDACTED), but what he says will be (REDACTED), and this will be incorrectly seen to (REDACTED), but will actually lead to (REDACTED) and this will cause (REDACTED) which will in turn cause (REDACTED).

Now you too know the probable future of Costa Mesa.

  1. Sandra Genis is a disgrace. She has betrayed her fellow citizens with her stunt at the HB Council meeting and constantly condemns everything this council does. I would expect a former mayor to be more respectable.

I see her home address is on the first page of the scanned document. I drove by and it looks like a dump. She really should hire a gardener.
