SADRIST DEMONSTRATIONS IN IRAQ

We say it again:  Keep an eye on Muqtada al-Sadr.  He could emerge as the real leader of Iraq.

Since al-Sadr is a Shiite this will, if it happens, put Iraq firmly on the side of Iran which is primarily a Shiite nation and it could cause Iraq to adopt Iran's form of governance in which there is a cleric who has power over the elected leaders.

Who might the cleric with power over elected leaders turn out to be in Iraq?  Why, al-Sadr, of course if he attains the rank of Ayatollah.

COURT STRIKES DOWN SOLICITING DAY WORKER LAW IN REDONDO BEACH

This was the case that many cities, including Costa Mesa, were watching.

Would Redondo's law pass muster?  Apparently, it didn't.

As one judge correctly stated, the Redondo law was so broad that it would bar kids from shouting "Car Wash," to passing motorists.

Laws have to be carefully crafted if cities want them to stand.

DEMONSTRATORS BACK PALESTINE STATEHOOD BID

You have to read way down in the article to get to the way the U.S. blunders around the planet with its dollar diplomacy.  Because the Palestinians are pushing for full statehood for Palestine, the U.S. is considering "reducing the $ 470 million" it sends to the Palestinians each year.

This type of dollar diplomacy doesn't make us any real friends.  It just keeps our pawns in power until the people in their nations rise up and throw them out of office. Then, things are usually even worse for our international relations.
