HOW THOSE LOONY LEFTIES TRY TO FOOL YOU

We're seeing the lefty thugs trying to stop the Costa Mesa City Council from getting our financial house in order in a number of ways.

Their prime weapon is to try to confuse the citizens of Costa Mesa  and cause them to doubt the Council.

Here's one of the things the lefty thugs are saying: "Costa Mesa's CEO Tom Hatch indicates that Costa Mesa may have around a $ 5 million deficit next year, but Councilmember Steve Mensinger says the deficit will be around $ 15 million.  So which is it?  Or is it neither, and these guys don't know what they're talking about?"

Now, we don't want to put words in Hatch or Mensinger's mouths but we think what they mean is this:

Hatch is projecting things as they are now as though the City just kept robbing Peter to pay Paul instead of serving the citizens of this city by tackling the deferred maintenance.

Mensinger, on the other hand, is saying that we've put off fixing our streets and other things for far too long and that the Council has a fiduciary responsibility to the citizens to start fixing these things.  Doing this will put us in a $ 15 million hole because we haven't been doing what we should have been doing for years and instead took money that should have gone into the streets and other infrastructure items and doled it out like an ATM machine on ex-lax to employees.

In other words, the stitch in time that would have saved nine wasn't done and now we need to cough up the nine instead of the one.

IF IT QUACKS LIKE A DUCK IT'S A UNION

One of the things that some of the out of town workers are saying is that they're not in unions; they're in  associations.

I'm familiar with that argument. And it doesn't hold water for me.  I'm in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and it's often said that we're not a union, we're a guild.

However, as far as I can tell, the employee's associations and SAG have all the characteristics of unions.

Call them anything you want but the general term 'union' fits.

CITY OF HALF MOON BAY TO OUTSOURCE COPS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

Has same problems as Costa Mesa and many other cities and needs to re-invent itself in a business model instead of being an ATM for City workers.

Look folks, this isn't complicated. For years, many cities in California have had bend-over City Councils that just keep robbing citizens to pay out of town employees.

These bend-over politicians stay in office by getting the financial support of the out of town employees and then they bend-over for them whenever the out of town employees tell them to do so.

And, we're here to tell you that most citizens are oblivious to this scam that's been going on for years.

Now, it has to stop. Thankfully, we have four good Councilmembers in Costa Mesa who are trying to stop the scam.

These four good Councilmembers deserve your support in this struggle because the out of town thugs are back to their personal attacks, threats and smears to try to get the four to cave in and give away the store.
