CM PRESS # 456

UPDATE ON INCIDENT OF MAN ATTACKED OUTSIDE DODGER GAME

The man attacked is a White man named Bryan Stow.  He is from Santa Cruz.  He was attacked by two Hispanics.  He is in a coma in critical condition.  The racial hate crime nature of the attack isn't even being hinted at in the press and the attack is being passed off as an attack based solely on the fact that Stowe was wearing a Giants shirt.

Hiding the racial nature of attacks on Whites by non-Whites is standard operating procedure by the establishment in this country.  However, if the races are reversed, the establishment is quick to try to find any racial motive for an attack by a White on a non-White.

COMMENTS FROM A READER ABOUT THE WESTSIDE

1) The skid row on west 19th street is actively propagated by the CMPD - they are constantly interfacing with them, and coddle them. The west side citizens are second class to the skid row elements.

2) Costa Mesa's skid row , by my estimation, negatively impacts property values on the ENTIRE WEST SIDE to the tune of 10-30% - it's obvious to any that look that west side properties trade at 20-40% discounts to the east side. This is easily in the neighborhood of 50 grand and up. Thus, FOR EVERY SINGLE BLOCK on the west side - typically 20 home, is a $1 million hit on property value.

3) Code enforcement and law enforcement policy and procedure may be one thing but as always action speaks louder than words. Enforcement is non-existent and explained away by 'i'm just a (beat cop, code enforcer, etc) It never ceases to amaze me that CM enforcement employees explain 'why' they won't 'move folks along' like they do in Mesa Verde, East Side CM.

Property owners on the west side are second class citizens and have a lower priority than skid row participants in the eyes of CM enforcement.

In particular, it's striking that after the horrendous recycling operation was moved on (last day was Valentines Day! yippee!) that the same skid row inhabitants are STILL TO THIS DAY coddled by CM 'enforcement'.

Drive to Smart and Final and see for yourself. What an abdication of responsibility!

PROPERTY OWNER STUCK ON SKID ROW AGAINST OUR WILL

THE CM PRESS COMMENTS:  You're one of many who are frustrated.  The CM PRESS constantly goes to City Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings and even Parks and Recreation Meetings and we often go to the podium and ask the new members of these bodies to dust off the Westside plans and get to work on implementing them.

We think the new Council is hearing us, and we think if they can get our financial house in order, that they'll start acting to improve the Westside.

One test of the Council will be coming up soon:  We've asked, and will continue to ask that the CDBG grants that are normally given to the charities that we believe are part of the problem, not be given to the charities, and that the money be used to help fix the infrastructure of the Westside.  This isn't a blue sky request.  It is perfectly legal and doable.

Frankly, if the Council votes against the Westside and keeps funding the magnet charities, we're going to be very pissed off.

  1. Since when is it okay to print comments from police officers without knowing if they live here? I'll tell you when: When their comments conform to our opinions, that's when. As a police officer, he should know that the city's laws, or lack thereof, prohibit much of the action he wants to see happen. Perhaps it's okay to do that in Corona or Temecula where he lives.

  2. The police in Costa Mesa have always coddled, and stroked, the Skid Row crowd. Their bums can do no wrong. The truth is, our hard working, brave, boys in blue don't like to write reports up, or put smelly people in their cars. In other words, they are exceedingly lazy.

With that kind of attitude we are being forced to pay our cops exotic salaries. Their performance is like a year round strike. Contract police would be a whole lot easier to manage than union backed lazy asses. At least we could fire them with ease if they fail to perform.
