As usual, there is a line in the article by the reporter saying that the union cops haven't (yet) been charged with any crimes. Crimes chimes.
Most intelligent citizens will say it doesn't matter if some of these cops are charged with crimes or not, their actions and public comments should be enough to get them bounced from the force.
Folks, the CM PRESS is making a public records request today to try to see or obtain a copy of the CMPD standards of behavior and practices and code of conduct. We don't know exactly what they call this at the CMPD, but most departments do have such written rules that call on officers to be above reproach.
And, there are many cops, as we've seen in the press, who have not been above reproach.
Do what is right. Be upstanding. Be truthful. Be ethical. Serve the public. Don't bring dishonor to the force. Respect the chain of command.These are some of the values that should be in such a code of conduct and there should be a one strike and you're out for major violations of them.
