--If any CMPD cops, while on duty (or off), acted as spotters and lookouts for the private eyes to tell them where the three councilmen would be at any time?
-- If any on duty CMPD cops, while on patrol, made it a point to drive by the councilmen's homes or Monahan's bar checking and running license plates and gathering other information?
-- If the movements of the councilmen, their spouses, their children and house guests were logged to show their patterns and habits?.
--If officers on patrol were then given the information of the patterns and habits of the councilmen, et al. so they could be where the councilmen were expected to be so the officers could observe them?
--If officers staked out the schools of the councilmen's children and observed who dropped them off and picked them up each day?
--If patrons of Monahan's bar were specifically followed and targeted with the intent to get them for DUI violations or to gather information?
--If any CMPD cops used department owned property, including, but not limited to, cars, computers, tracking devices, etc. to either help try to elect puppets or to foil the election of honest candidates?
--If any CMPD cops had easy access to confidential files on citizens, including the three councilmen?
--If any CMPD cops were in frequent contact with the private eyes whenever the latter were in town to do whatever they were doing in respect to the councilmen?
--If any CMPD cops used the lefty councilwomen to supply information on the councilmen?

ARE THE BAD COPS IN COSTA MESA LEFTIES JUST LIKE THE HATERS WHO SUPPORT THEM?
Some Costa Mesans are probably right in believing that most, if not all of the bad cops, are lefties just like the haters and the lefty council candidates supported by these bad cops.
The ironic thing is that most people seem to think most cops are conservative. And, it is also ironic that it is lefties who mostly call cops names and hate them, not conservatives. Of course, the bad cops in Costa Mesa are alienating conservatives (their natural support base among citizens) and this isn't good for the department.

Be sure to read the comments from the haters--a feckless herd of tiny brain crackpots and people with inadequate personalities--as they try to defend bad cops. Their comments as they grasp for straws are hilarious.
Here's the bottom line on all of this, folks. Either the good cops in the CMPD command structure send the bad cops packing so all the morale killing bad apples are removed along with the institutional rot that they've created, or more and more citizens are going to call for a complete disbanding of the CMPD and the hiring of the Sheriff to do our policing in Costa Mesa.
The rank and file cops should not be running the CMPD and they are not in charge of the municipal government of Costa Mesa or the City Council. They are employees of the citizens of this city, not an untouchable aristocracy that can do anything they want to do.
The contempt in which some of the bad cops hold the ordinary citizens of Costa Mesa is palpable and is completely unacceptable.
About the civil suit
Some citizens are of the opinion that it not only should not be dropped but that at least one more person (maybe two) should be added as a plaintiff, several new causes of action should be added, and some of the Does should soon be replaced with actual names.
And, the criminal case
It wouldn't surprise some citizens if the case is expanded soon with more people being indicted. And, it also would surprise observers if federal charges are soon added.
