COSTA MESA...

MAYOR PRO TEM RIGHEIMER SWORN IN AS MEMBER OF OCTA BOARD

Here's the unedited press release as we received it:

Mayor Pro Tem Righeimer sworn in as newest member of OCTA board
Posted Date: 12/9/2014

Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer was sworn in this week as the newest member of the Orange County Transportation Authority’s (OCTA) Board of Directors.

Righeimer was recently appointed to the board by the City Selection Committee and will represent the 2nd supervisorial district. The seat was vacated by former Huntington Beach Mayor Matthew Harper, who was elected in November to the state Assembly. Righeimer’s term is for one year.

Other board members appointed to the OCTA board by the City Selection Committee were Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido (1st supervisorial district), Seal Beach Councilmember Gary Miller (2nd supervisorial district), Irvine Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Lalloway (3rd supervisorial district), La Habra Councilmember Tim Shaw (4th supervisorial district) and San Clemente Councilmember Lori Donchak (5th supervisorial district).

The City Selection Committee is comprised of Orange County’s mayors (representing 34 cities) and is administered by the Clerk of the Board of Orange County. The committee makes appointment to regional boards and commissions like OCTA, the Local Agency Formation Commission and others.

The OCTA board is responsible for overseeing the transportation agency, including the countywide bus and paratransit service, Metrolink rail service, the 91 Express Lanes, Measure M implementation, freeway, street and road improvements projects and motorist services.

The board is comprised of 17 elected members and the Caltrans District 12 director, who serves as a non-voting member.

THE WORLD...

MORE INFORMATION ON THE PRETTY 19-YEAR-OLD WHITE GIRL WHO HAD LIGHTER FLUID POURED IN HER MOUTH AND NOSE AND ALL OVER HER AND WHO WAS SET ON FIRE AND DIED

Video (2:08).

We'll definitely try to stay on top of this story and report anything new as soon as we learn it.

Social media commenters are saying this was a race hate crime by Blacks but we've not seen any official confirmation of who the police are looking for, although we've also seen hints that they may be looking for two individuals--no descriptions given to the public by the police or media, though.

Panola County, Miss. where this happened is about 49% White and 48% Black.

CHARLOTTESVILLE NEW AFRICA--BLACK MALE BEATS WHITE MOTHER AND HER TEEN DAUGHTER TO DEATH

The killer is said to have known the teen daughter.  Do you suppose if, before he killed her and her mother, an awakened White told her that she might be in danger she would have called that person a racist?

If she could come back from the grave, what would she say now?  And, how would she feel about not only getting herself killed but also her mother?
