The improvement minded majority will be able to continue to improve Costa Mesa.  Katrina Foley, an improvement obstructionist, simply takes the seat to be vacated by another improvement obstructionist, Wendy Leece.  No big deal.  No loss for improvement.

Even if Righeimer had lost, there are enough improvement projects now in the pipeline to keep Costa Mesa on track until the next election in two years and beyond.

And, you may recall that while the CM PRESS was one of the first to call for improvement in Costa Mesa back in the late 1990's, and while we helped craft the Westside Plans, we have also called for the council to now start being more picky in what is allowed to be built.  As we've written before, the Westside Plans were not designed to be like the The Sorcerer's Apprentice.  They were to be used to prime the pump, not be a perpetual open spigot.

The Westside Plans were designed to sweeten the pot so small lot developers would take the riks of wildcatting some some new homes and retail stores on the gang and crime infested Westside--to fix the broken windows--and attract upwardly mobile people to the area where their higher demographics would start an upward spiral.  That upward spiral is now well underway.

In other words,  no matter what happened in this election, improvement would still move forward, and that's what the CM PRESS is for. Even if Righeimer had lost and we ended up with improvement obstructionists, they wouldn't be able to stop what's in the pipeline and  they'd only be able to do what we've suggested: start being more picky when looking at developments.

Don't misunderstand us.  We're pleased that Righeimer won reelection, but the point we're making is that he did such a good job of sparking improvement during his first term, that his good work would continue on even had he lost.

*We believe that Righeimer's margin of victory will increase when all the "stray" votes are counted, so we're calling this a win right now. But even if there is a reversal, improvement will carry on.

No surpirse here. Steel's husband is a GOP Big Suit who was owed many favors by the GOP establishment so it was clear from the start that they'd dump Mansoor and back Steel.

No surprise. We think this would have passed had the suits from the 5th floor of city hall been making sure the previous city clerk had the paperwork in on time when this was first proposed  Timing is important and that timing was lost because of the screwup.

MARYLAND--HUGE UPSET AS REPUBLICAN BEATS OBAMA MINI-ME TO BECOME GOVERNOR

The Obama Mini-Me got the non-White vote from the usual slum places, but the Republican won on the basis of the White vote from the suburbs.

Whites starting to realize it is in their interest to vote the White Bloc?

We haven't seen any data on this, but we believe all the physical hate attacks on Whites in Baltimore by Blacks may have caused many White voters to wake up to reality.

The press constantly tries to hush up these hate crimes against Whites while trying to puff up "thought crimes" by Whites to make it seem as though Blacks are just innocent victims of Whites, but the internet is breaking through that fog of lies.

Right here in Costa Mesa, we see the liberal Daily Pilot hiding the race/ethnicity of non-White criminals while billboarding the race of criminals when they are White.  Don't be fooled, folks.  Know the truth and you'll be safer.

NEW THINKING ABOUT SPECIES EXTINCTIONS REINFORCES NEED FOR BIG POPULATIONS

We sometimes run across arguments from misguided Whites who say that we shouldn't worry about having a low birthrate because we should breed for quality.  This is nonsense, and the above article, while not about humans, also says (if you read between the lines) that the quality over quantity argument is bogus.
Organisms have a greater chance of survival as a type if they have large numbers of their type.
