TODAY'S TALLY--5 PM, 11/13/14
There were still a few votes to count. With the count today, Righeimer has increased his lead over Humphrey to 48 votes.
All that really needs to be done now is to officially name Righeimer as the winner. The loud mouth kooky haters aren't saying much these days.
We'll say it again: Humphrey has not led Righeimer in any daily count. Not one. Anyone who thinks that Humphrey can still win is dumber than dumb.

We say the election is over and that Righeimer is the winner. Are we right?
Also, as you may have noted, we started dividing up our blog into COSTA MESA... and THE WORLD... sections during the election. We like the way it's working so we're going to continue with this new format.
This way, if you just want Costa Mesa news and views you can get them without anything else, but if you're interested in some of the other things that catch our eye, you can find them in The World section. At some point we may make a further division, but for now, we'll continue to put international, national, science, philosophy and everything else that is not directly related to Costa Mesa in THE WORLD section. However, if we think an item in THE WORLD section also applies to Costa Mesa, we'll comment on that but keep it all in THE WORLD.

ABANDON ALL HOPE, HATERS
In CM PRESS # 764 ON 11/5/14 we wrote: "Haters lose--Righeimer Reelected." This was based on the first mass vote counts. Then, the daily vote counts started and the haters held out hope as the divide between the candidate of the haters, Jay Humphrey, and the candidate of the good, decent citizens of the city, Jim Righeimer, narrowed.
We pointed out as the dailies continued that even though the vote count was close, Righeimer never fell behind Humphrey, and yesterday with the votes virtually all now counted (yes, there may be a very few straggler votes that will pop up today and maybe even tomorrow) it seems clear that Righeimer has won the election.
What's next?
Humphrey or the unions may now ask for a full or partial recount. Good. Let them waste their money (estimated by the Registrar to cost between $8,000-$10,000 for a full recount), because such recounts are usually futile.
And, since Righeimer is the incumbent, he'll continue to run the city as the mayor, even during the recount, without missing a breath. And, then when the recount is done, and it is confirmed even to the dumbest of the haters that he won, Mayor Righeimer will continue on for another four years in improving Costa Mesa.
His election is a mandate for Improvement and it would be a mandate even if he won by a single vote.
The haters will never come around to logical and reasoned views on what it takes to make Costa Mesa the best, almost coastal, California city because they know nothing about real city planning, development or real estate (residential and commercial). And, they have false ideas of the so-called "human condition," and thus have fixed ideas that cause them to not even understand a very basic fact and that is that a city is its people. Attract a downwardly mobile, criminal element and you have crime. Attract an upwardly mobile and non-criminal element and you don't have crime.
Mayor Righeimer understands how to attract upwardly mobile non-criminal people. Why? Because he does have development experience, he does have real estate experience, he does have experience with tenanting shopping centers. He simply understands what the haters are too stupid to understand.
And, more good news for Costa Mesa is the fact that Mayor Pro Tem Mensinger also understands these things and has experience with them.
Councilmember Monahan also understands these things but on a different level. As the owner of a bar he knows that you can develop the look and the feel of your establishment to attract the type of customers you want to attract.
As we've often pointed out, if you want to attract cowboys, you give your bar a cowboy theme--the look, the music, etc. If you want yuppies, you do something different. And, so it goes. Cities can be shaped the way you shape a bar.
But you can't discriminate on who decides to live in your city, and you can't force people in or out. You simply have to be the place where upwardly mobile people want to be if that's who you want.
The other frequent example the CM PRESS uses in this regard is an alligator swamp. If you want alligators you keep the swamp. If you don't want alligators, you just drain the swamp and the alligators will leave all on their own; simply because they are comfortable in a swamp and not comfortable where there is no swamp.
Costa Mesa is draining the swamp.
No one is forced to move in or out of Costa Mesa. Improvements (and the Westside Plans now that they are being implemented) are just improving the city which is our right to do, and this is attracting more upwardly mobile people here who like the ambiance that is being created.
It's funny to listen to some of the most shrill and vocal girly men, haters and dead enders who often live on the Eastside of Costa Mesa, where property values (including the value of their own homes) are increasing astronomically, as they whine that Improvement is bad.
These dopes can't seem to understand that their property values are directly related to the Improvements that the Righeimer Council is bringing in all around the city. As we've written before, the Westside Plans are about more than just the Westside.
We've been writing for many years that the Westside is the key to improving all of Costa Mesa--fix the borken Westside and the whole city will automatically start improving--and that is exactly what is happening as the Westside Plans take hold.
What about Foley?
Foley is a liberal so she has many of the same screwball ideas that most liberals have, however, we think she may eventually have a Eureka moment as she realizes that the crime she complains about on her street in Mesa del Mar is not happening because we have too few cops or because criminals are commuting to her street from Santa Ana or Los Angeles, but that the criminals live right in the Mission-Mendoza slum that is in her neighborhood.
The Mission-Mendoza slum is the alligator swamp in Foley's backyard. And, when she realizes that this is the cause of the effects that she is seeing (burglaries, etc), and that the slum can't be fixed because it is functionally obsolete (a real estate term of art) because it has the ambiance of 1960's era military barracks and can never again attract upwardly mobile people or even middle class people, maybe she'll join with the Improvers in trying to get that slum (and others as well) thinned out or razed.
But, if Foley does not have a Eureka moment, it won't matter as far as Improvement goes. She is just replacing another liberal on the Council, Wendy Leece--it's just one liberal leaving and one replacing her--so the Righeimer Council is still intact.
Now, unlike Foley who lives on an ordinary street, Leece doesn't have to worry so much about the burglaries and street crime, because although she likes to tell everyone that she lives on the Westside, what she forgets to tell everyone is that she lives in a high-end GATED community right on the Westside Bluffs that is as isolated from the downscale conditions of the Westside as a gated community in Newport Beach.

THE WORLD...
Baltimore named one of the most violent cities in the world.
What does the above list of the most violent cities forget to tell you? Just that they are all non-White cities and the violent crime is overwhelmingly the product of non-Whites in every single one of them including in Baltimore.
Genes matter. Learn it. Know it. Remember it. Continue to live and not become a victim of non-White violent crime.
HERE'S a demographic report on Baltimore. As you can see, Baltimore is now 63.3% Black and 4.6% Hispanic and is only 28.3% White. That's too low a White percentage to make Baltimore (or any other city) a safe and desirable city.
Whites are fleeing Baltimore and the city is getting even worse. Check back next year and you'll no doubt see the White percentage of the population has dropped even more. Intelligent Whites don't want to be trapped in a city on such a slide and want to sell their homes and get out while they can.

DO YOU HAVE THIS MUTATION OF GENE NPC1L1?
If so, you have a 50% less chance of having a heart attack.
Genes are us. They are the most active part of our DNA code that makes each of us, us.
Are we predetermined to do exactly what our genes tell us to do? Not exactly. For example, if you carry genes for alcoholism, but you live in a family or culture where drinking alcohol is never done, your alcoholism will not be expressed.

RACE AND THE 2014 ELECTION
A Kevin MacDonald column.
MacDonald discusses how Whites are deserting the Democrat Party and how they are coming to understand that it is they--Whites--who will pay for liberal programs such as Obamacare, but it will not be Whites who will get most of the benefits and that it will be non-Whites who will be on the White paid gravy train and who will not have to work for their benefits.
As Whites keep shrinking as a percentage of the population of the U.S. and non-Whites increase their percentages, Whites are carrying more of the burden and getting less of the rewards of living in the U.S.
Or, to put it more simply: Whites pay and non-Whites play.

CM Press, the ballots have all been counted. The race is over. The Registrar may certify today, or he may wait to certify until tomorrow. Either way, Righeimer has won.
ReplyDeletepoint of order Mr. Mustang: the haters lost a close one. they did well to get so close. of course that hurts even more to lose by so little. probably should have run Weitzberg instead but the fix was in before the candidate review panel even met. karma. i think Jay is a nice guy but would have been a disaster in a majority dais. prefer him to foley though. but the meltdowns coming up on the dais will be fun to watch . no one can be ruder but maybe she will learn that we have a CEO, not a city manager. the one she is replacing never did get that correct.
ReplyDeleteI found her comments to the Voice of OC article appearing on their website this morning, insulting. She is awful.
