WENDY LEECE LIVES IN A GATED COMMUNITY...
Or as we like to call it at the CM PRESS, the Beverly Hills
of the Westside.
We need to end the divisiveness
in Costa Mesa and bring us all together as Wendy and her pals often say.
To that end, we think Wendy should use her influence to remove the gates from her community.
And, just who is it that Wendy and her neighbors are trying to keep out of their neighborhood? Hmmmmm?
Now, most stable homeowners who live on the Westside don't live behind gates. They also don't have No Trespassing signs to keep other citizens out of the neighborhood. The gates and sign seem very divisive to us. They separate those within from those without.
There are no homeless people near Wendy's home, and criminals would have a hard time getting in to her gated community. In fact, even citizens who might want to see the view from the bluffs on the edge of Wendy's neighborhood can't get in.
When you live behind gates, you can be holier than thou and praise the charities that are acting as magnets to bring ever more people to Costa Mesa who can't afford to live here. Behind gates you live in a secure bubble.
So, we're calling on Wendy to work to get the gates removed from her neighborhood so all the fine folks in Costa Mesa can simply walk in and wander around the streets near Wendy's home just as they can around all the other homes in Costa Mesa.
After all, we're Costa Mesan's, right Wendy? We're different! We don't want to be like Newport Beach. So, let's end the divide in the community by removing those gates and the fence and walls that keep you, Wendy, from being one with the rest of the community.
What say you Wendy? You praise the charities and haven't done a thing to improve the Westside in all the years you've been on the City Council, so how about you living in the same conditions that you help create and maintain for the ordinary citizens of the Westside who don't live behind gates in a safe neighborhood?

MARINES GET NEW JET--F-35B
The F-35B that will be used by Marines is the version of the new jet that can take off and land vertically and land on short runways. These are capabilities needed for the close support of Marine ground forces that are typical of Marine operations.
The Air Force and Navy will get other versions.

CAN IT BE THAT WENDY LEECE AND HER PALS ARE SIMPLY INCAPABLE OF THINKING LONG TERM?
As we think about what a waste Leece has been on the City Council, we are struck by her inability to consider the consequences of things that she promotes.
We are thinking specifically of her constant puffing of the charities.
Is it too difficult to understand that if you offer free food, free medical care, and even free cash, that you will attract and retain people in Costa Mesa who need free food, free medical care and free cash?
And is it too difficult to understand that whenever you offer such freebies, that you will attract and retain many more people from out of the area?
Folks, it is axiomatic that all organisms will gravitate to where they are comfortable and where life is easy.
The axiom is the same for flat worms in a petri dish who will congregate in the part of the dish that is most comfortable for them as it is for pigeons who will congregate near where they are being fed and also for human beings who will congregate near where they can get various freebies.
Wendy and those who think like her are continuing to make Costa Mesa a very comfortable place for people who can't afford to live here, but who are flocking here to get the freebies.
And, once here, they see that they are supported by all the charities and the fine folks from Newport Beach and by Wendy and her pals. With all the freebies and support from at least one politician, why leave?
Compassion for some that harms the rest of us is misplaced compassion.
Wendy and her friends aren't really offering a safety net for Costa Mesa citizens who have temporarily fallen on hard times, they're acting as magnets to pull in people from all over Orange County and even Los Angeles, and this is not helping make Costa Mesa a nicer place for the real citizens of this city.
As a result of all the people being pulled in, our crime is rising. So, what is the solution offered by Wendy and her pals? Why, it is to hire ever more police officers to try to hold down the crime that these "kind hearted souls" have created here.
And, hiring more police officers is exactly what the employee unions want to see happen.
More crime equals more cops equals more union power.
Yes, dear friends, it is a symbiotic relationship with the public sector unions and the charity bosses supporting politicians who support the public sector unions and the charities because they benefit from what their elected puppet politicians do.
The ones who do not benefit are the stable citizens of Costa Mesa who feel unsafe in their homes and parks and even on our streets.
We live in a cause and effect universe. For every effect we see in Costa Mesa--homeless people taking over the parks and streets and library, illegal aliens producing gang members, rising crime--there is a cause or causes.
We say that Wendy Leece and those who think like her are one of the causes of the bad effects we are seeing in Costa Mesa. If you disagree, let us know.
