NEW GHOST TOWNS; INDUSTRIAL COMMUNITIES TEETER ON THE EDGE
Link

Yup. And, unless America re-industrializes, we're going to become a third rate power full of poverty.

All of Obama's stimulus programs are phony bridge loans. The problem is that there's nothing on the other side of the bridge unless we start making things again.

UPDATE TO LAWN STORY: The City of Orange has now dropped all charges against the couple with no grass. (3:16PM, 3/2/10)

Costa Mesa should apologize to the guy in our city who went through the same crap a few months ago.

ANOTHER PHONY HATE CRIME EXPOSED
Link
Minority female student admits putting up noose at UCSD.

CM PRESS COMMENT: We told you about this incident several issues ago and we also told you that it sounded like a phony incident.

What we didn't mention then is that in many of these phony hate crime incidents the perp is often a minority female and her actions (when the surface is scratched) often seem to be wrapped up in psycho/sexual problems.

This minority female angle isn't new. The first such incident of this that we are aware of in this country started the Salem Witch Trials in which Tituba, a minority female, started the hysteria that later led to the killing of innocent people as witches.

Then there was the Duke University incident. And, don't forget Tawana Brawley. Remember the incident in Riverside a couple of years ago with a minority female professor who wrote hate slogans on her car and claimed "racists" had targeted her? And, who can forget the case of the minority female in the Midwest who claimed that white racists held her down and carved swastikas on her stomach? All of these phonies, and many more, were exposed.

More recently, approximately 400 FLDS kids were taken from their parents after a Black woman called the authorities and claimed that she was a young FLDS White girl who was being held captive.

There's a book in all this. Maybe we'll write it.

One error (perhaps of semantics) in the above linked column is that it is implied that the existence of our universe violates the laws of nature. Not so. The current understanding of the laws of nature is simply not complete.

In two other incidents, drivers switched seating positions with passengers out of fear of being arrested for driving under the influence.

2055 Vehicles through the Checkpoint
633 Vehicles Screened
3 DUI Suspects Arrested
2 Other Arrests
15 Citations Issued
1 Vehicles Impounded for 30 days

ORANGE SUES COUPLE WHO REMOVED GRASS LAWN IN THEIR FRONT YARD
Link

CM PRESS OPINION: Grass lawns in our semi-arid area are not natural. Grass only looks good with constant life-support from humans. It would be far better if we had our properties landscaped with plants that naturally grow here.

This is something that the CM PRESS has been in favor of ever since we came to California years ago.

Here in Costa Mesa, our dimwitted politicians are spending millions of our dollars in "restoring" Fairview Park to its "natural or native condition."

This means they're pulling out plants that are naturally growing there with no human help and putting in plants that require that the city pay a full time professional arborist and staff to try to keep the new "natural and native" plants alive.

Look, this isn't complicated. An important aspect of an environment is time and change. The plants that Costa Mesa says are natural and native, are no longer natural and native. This is shown by the fact that they're not now here and that they can't grow here without expensive and constant human intervention

Maybe after the city puts in all the plants that can't grow here naturally anymore, we should rename Fairview Park and call it Frankenpark.

PHONY FORCED DIVERSITY DYING
Link

People just like being around others like themselves. Rudyard Kipling got it right in the 1800's when he wrote The Stranger:

The Stranger within my gate,
He may be true or kind,
But he does not talk my talk--
I cannot feel his mind.
I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,
But not the soul behind.

The men of my own stock,
They may do ill or well,
But they tell the lies I am wanted to,
They are used to the lies I tell;
And we do not need interpreters
When we go to buy or sell.

The Stranger within my gates,
He may be evil or good,
But I cannot tell what powers control--
What reasons sway his mood;
Nor when the Gods of his far-off land
Shall repossess his blood.

The men of my own stock,
Bitter bad they may be,
But, at least, they hear the things I hear,
And see the things I see;
And whatever I think of them and their likes
They think of the likes of me.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

  1. CM Press. I disagree on the grass issue. The guy in Costa Mesa was a drama queen. He just wanted publicity. You can't keep dirt. If you can't afford or don't want to water grass, put in something. Dirt is not acceptable. Minimum standards here!
