ARE NEWPORTERS TRYING TO CHASE BROWN PEOPLE OUT OF THE CITY?

Here's a story in the almost daily Daily Pilot about a group of residents in Newport Beach who are trying to keep Chronic Taco from expanding and serving beer.

The gripe is that there are too many bars in Newport Beach and that if Chronic Taco expands and offers beer it will bring crime and parking problems to the area.

The residents make a reasonable argument. And, that argument will probably be heard on its own merits and within its four corners.

But, had this story been about a restaurant in Costa Mesa, with all the same facts, we'd be reading comments in the almost daily Daily Pilot from that dim witted flaccid eunuch and other low I.Q. types who would claim that the residents are trying to chase brown people out of the city.

"Whisper, whisper, you see, that's their real secret motive, they don't want brown people in the city and it's a well known fact that tacos are Mexican food. Pass it on."

The flaccid eunuch--sterile both in mind and body-- is like a toilet that is stopped up. Flush all you want, and you'll hear and see the water moving in the toilet bowl, but it won't go anyplace. It just circles around meaninglessly...impotently...uselessly.

WELCOME TO THE NEW DARK AGE

Say you see some men who look as though they're breaking into a home. What do you do? You call 911.

The 911 operator then asks you what the men look like and you tell her. If the men are non-white and you are white, should you be vilified as a racist because you gave a description of the perps as being non-white?

Well, that's apparently what has happened to Lucia Whalen, the woman in Cambridge, Mass., who called in what looked like a burglary and which led to the arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.

After hate bloggers claimed she was a racist for assuming two Black men were breaking into a home just because she saw them forcing a door open, Whalen is now pointing out that, by golly, she's not a racist because she didn't mention race in her initial comments to 911 (because the men had their backs to her and she couldn't see them clearly), and only said that one might be Hispanic after the 911 operator asked for a description.

Here's the nutty part of this. Suppose the two men hadn't had their backs to Whalen and she could clearly see that they were black and gave this important descriptive information to the 911 operator. Would that make her a racist?

Not in a sane world it wouldn't. But in our present insane world, well....
