The above linked story fails because it lumps people of all races together as one and then talks about average weights of this lumpen pile. This is poor reporting and it is poor science.
You can't discuss humans and the so-called human condition unless you also consider race. If the above story were to make sense, it would have to break out the averages by race. It fails to do so, and it thus fails.
