POOL INDUSTRY SAYS PUT IN A POOL TO SAVE WATER (WE KID YOU NOT)

Astute readers of the above linked article will immediately see that the pool industry is using  an either/or fallacy to try to promote pools during our drought.

In this case, the pool industry is saying that pools use less water than lawns.  Thus, you should take out your lawn and put in a pool. This is fallacious because there are more than just two choices.  It is not a case of having either a lawn or a pool.  You can remove the lawn and put in drought tolerant plants, for example.

U.S. SUPREME COURT RULES FOR MUSLIM WOMAN IN HEAD SCARF CASE  AGAINST CLOTHING STORE

Another reason why a diverse society can't help but step on the rights of some all the time.

The store had a certain look that did not include women wearing head scarfs and said it has the right to demand that look.  The woman said her religious beliefs required her to wear the head scarf and that under freedom of religion laws she has that right. Whose rights should prevail?  The  U.S. Supreme Court ruled for the woman.

The push for making every country look like the Star Wars Bar can't help but harm the rights of some because it is forcing a dominant culture to give up its rights to its own culture.  This is what we're seeing in the U.S. today.
