MARKETING COSTA MESA TO AN UPWARDLY MOBILE POPULATION

If you want to have a cowboy bar, you decorate the place accordingly and play cowboy music and do
other things that have a cowboy feel.  Soon, your bar will be full of cowboys.

If you want to have a biker bar, a singles bar or any other kind of bar, you decorate accordingly and play the appropriate music and give your bar the right feel for the clientele you want to attract.

It is not much different with cities.

Build the kind of city that will attract the type of residents you want, and they will come.

This is what the Righeimer Council is doing right now in Costa Mesa by implementing the word and the spirit of the Westside Plans.  The Westside Plans aren't just about the Westside and never were. They are about all of Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa has been pulled back from the brink of being a new skid row and is now on a rapid upswing. You have the Righeimer Council to thank for that.  Without Jim Righeimer, Steve Mensinger and Gary Monahan, the Westside Plans would still be sitting on a dust covered shelf in some obscure corner of city hall where no one would ever think about them, let alone implement them.

Now, if you have no experience in real estate, development, marketing, running your own company, shaping public perceptions, and if you have a short memory and don't remember the gang shootings and other violent crimes that were becoming very common in Costa Mesa a few years ago, and if you are a little short on pattern analysis or even on putting puzzles together, you may not see how all the pieces are being put in place for a terrific Costa Mesa that we will all be proud of...but those pieces are being put in place; one over here, one over there and then another in this other place, and now, those pieces are starting to add up and look like something to those with the eyes to see, and they are giving glimpses of the total picture of an amazingly improved Costa Mesa.

Costa Mesa is becoming the IT place to live, work and play.
