ORANGE COUNTY: YELLOW AND BROWN RACISM ON DISPLAY IN 1ST DISTRICT BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RACE
It is only Whites who seem to think that one shouldn't vote for one's own racial or ethnic group, while Yellows, Browns, Blacks and Reds all understand that if you vote for someone who shares your race/ ethnicity and who is proud of their race/ethnicity that you may get better representation for yourself and your family.
Meanwhile, many low consciousness Whites--lacking a proper sense of self and group worth and a proper sense of identity--bend over backwards to vote for those who look least like themselves and who have as little in common with them as possible in order to prove to themselves (and to others) that they are not racist.
So, what this amounts to is that Whites often vote against their own best interests. Other racial/ethnic groups are not this dumb. They know that someone who looks like them is more likely to think like them and to better represent them and their interests.
