BONOBOS SHARE 98.7% OF HUMAN DNA

Not really news.  Most people who know anything about evolution and genes understand that very small differences in the order of DNA can have major effects.

Bonobos used to be called Pygmy Chimps and it was thought that they were of the same species as other chimps.

That has now been proven wrong and it's theorized that a couple of million years ago a wide river formed in Africa that separated and isolated  chimps on both sides of the river.

And, what usually happens with such isolation, when there is no gene transfer--as was the case here--the once identical groups will begin evolving differently and will branch off into separate species.

Today, the Bonobos are classed as a different species than other chimps, and the Bonobos are apparently closer to humans in their DNA than other chimps.

We had previously guessed that this might be what is going on behind the scenes, and this was confirmed by CEO Hatch at last night's city council meeting.

Some wonder if there isn't more going on--say a palace coup of some sort--since Hatch was out of town when the two employees were put on paid leave and this whole thing blew up.

Until the records are released and inspected, all anyone can do is speculate.

And, many in the city, including the CM PRESS, have filed public records act requests to see various records relating to the anniversary party but the city has turned down all requests so far.
