CM PRESS # 355

INDIANA, USA NEW AFRICA--BLACK KILLS WHITE POLICE OFFICER

Video.

If the cop had been reading the CM PRESS he might still be alive today.  Know the odds, folks.  Do profile. There is not a one size fits all human.  Violent crime is not an equal opportunity employer.  It is your responsibility to survive.  Don't let PCitis lull you into a false sense of security.

TODAY'S LESSON ON EVOLUTION:  SOME RATS IN SWEDEN HAVE MUTATED AND ARE NOW POISON PROOF

How does the above happen?  Through the basic processes of evolution.

First, a mutation will arise in the DNA code of one organism (in this case, a rat) that will make it immune to the poision.  Then, this rat will live longer and will breed more than other rats without the mutation, and the mutation will spread through the rat population via natural selection.  Soon, you have an entire population of rats who are immune to the poision.

Blue eyes in humans

It is now believed that blue eyes in humans arose about 5,000 years ago and that all people with blue eyes get this mutation from one individual who lived back then.

Mutations

It was once thought that mutations were rare.  Now, it is known that they are common and that each human (to name just one species) has, on average, two mutations.  Most of the mutations are small things--ability to roll the tongue is one such mutation.

Fear of monsters from nuclear radiation

Mutations from nuclear radiation are often used as plot devices in scifi movies.  And, because of this, many people are confused and think the radiation is somehow qualitatively different as far as mutations go.  In fact, mutations are mutations and all causes of mutations work the same way.  Think of pounding in a nail.  You can do it with a hammer (the cause), or a rock (also a cause) or any other hard object.  The nail will still get pounded in. The cause doesn't make a difference on the effect.

Portrait of an insane woman
by the real Gericault
GERICAULT DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVING COSTA MESA OR DO YOU JUST LIKE TO WHINE LIKE A LITTLE GIRL?

Back on September 11, we published the comment below from a guy who sometimes uses the name of  long dead French painter Gericault as his screen name.  We all know who this guy is.  He's one of the liberals who complain all the time about everything the good councilmembers do.

So, we asked this guy (and you can see our reply below his) for his vision of the Westside (that's where he lives).  So far, he hasn't answered us but we keep seeing his negative comments under his real name showing up in the Daily Pilot as he whines about the good councilmembers.

That's the way it is with some of these serial complainers: They're not doers, so when doers do, these folks stand on the sidelines, purse their lips and say things such as:  "Tsk, tsk, my, my, I wouldn't have done it that way."  Of course, these non-doers simply don't do.  They just whine.

Anyway, Gericault, if you have a vision for the Westside or a way to improve any part of, or even all of Costa Mesa, send us a message.  This is our second request.

  1. "The ordinance can be a good tool to improve parts of Costa Mesa or it can be a bad tool if it is used in the wrong parts or if there is mission creep as developers try to get R1 lots rezoned to R2 so they can use this ordinance where it's not supposed to be used."

You mean like changing the zoning of the Canyon Park Westside Neighborhood to R2?

Your buddies on Council are already at it.

I have an image from a staff slide presentation from a March 19th meeting, it is NOT included in this staff report.

    http://www.costamesaca.gov/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=10133

Included in the staff report , page 7, under "Westside Overlay Zone"

"Expand the Westside Overlay Zone to include additional areas south of Victoria and West of Harbor."
"Allow mixed-used development and high-density residential development for all properties in the overlay zone"

The image that was NOT included into the staff report ,and is on the slide presentation, is on the video feed provided below with the time stamp.

    http://costamesa.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=10&clip_id=2114

At the time stamp 4:05:40 Claire Flynn suggests that the Westside Overlay zone is too limiting and they suggest expanding it over the entire Westside, including the R1 neighborhoods, all the way out to Victoria.

I really didn't want to comment on here, and was looking for another way to email you. I wanted to include the screen shot images.

We agree about two percent of the time.....and even then only when the Libertarian aspects of our politics chime twice a day.

Nobody is putting the SLO and the General Plan Westside Overlay recommendations together. It would be devastating for the Westside R1 neighborhoods and will make them into the "Eastside", which in my opinion, is completely fucked.

You can post this ,.....I would prefer you didn't.

    This was just an FYI....

    Gericault.

  2. Mssr. Gericault, since you gave us a choice of publishing this or not, we chose to publish it.

Your comments deserve an answer. Everything is not a plot to destroy the city and perhaps someone at City Hall will read your comments here and respond, if you haven't already sent these comments to City Hall. Have you?

On another point, I'm happy to tell you, and I'm sure you're just as happy to hear, that I think we agree much less than 2% of the time, so I think your liberal bonafides are secure, and that you should have little fear that you will be shunned by the fine residents of Charenton simply because you chose to comment here where many people will see your comments.

I'm told the new 19 West sign will be up in the not too distant future, and while that's a small thing, I think it will add to the attractiveness of the street and may help with giving us a true downtown. N'est-ce pas?

I'd actually like to see what your vision is for the Westside. If you feel like it, send me something, maybe with bullet points--something logical and succinct--about what you'd like over there and I may put it up above as a column. (Psst, you can remain anonymous if you like.)

WHITE MALE IN HOSPITAL AFTER BEING HIT WITH A BLUNT OBJECT BY LATINO GANG MEMBERS IN COSTA MESA

Notice in the above linked Daily Pilot report on this crime, that things have been turned around starting right with the headline.  Then, the Pilot fails to tell readers that the victim is a 26-year-old White male.

The Daily Pilot gets the same press releases from the CMPD as the CM PRESS, so they have the same information we have.  They simply choose not to give readers all the information.

WE HEAR THAT SOME GOODY-TWO-SHOES ARE GOING TO MEET TO DISCUSS HOW TO SOLVE THE HOMELESS PROBLEM IN COSTA MESA (read, how they can help ever more homeless find their way here to pump up the charity client rolls)

Having a meeting of the usual pathological altruists to try to solve the homeless problem is a little like having a meeting of pigeon ladies to discuss how to solve the pigeon problem.

The pigeon ladies would probably be unanimous in saying the problem is that we have hungry pigeons and we must be Christian and compassionate and thus the answer to the problem is for the citizens of Costa Mesa to build pigeon houses and pigeon clinics and to give them more pigeon food.
