CM PRESS # 849

UPDATE:  FAR RIGHT PARTY CALLS FOR REVOLUTION IN GREECE AFTER WINNING SEATS IN PARLIAMENT

Wants immigrants to leave Greece and says they are ruining the country and taking jobs from Greeks.

From the above linked The Blaze article:

“No one should fear me if they are a good Greek citizen. If they are traitors – I don’t know,” Michaloliakos [leader of the far right Golden Dawn] said.
Flanked by two muscly aides, he later told a news conference: “Those who betray this country – it’s time for them to be afraid. We are coming.”
He did not elaborate, but added: “We will fight to free Greece from the global loan sharks, for a Greece of dignity and independence, and for a Greece that is not a social jungle with all these millions of illegal immigrants that were brought here.”

SQUISHY EDITORIAL IN DAILY PILOT ABOUT THE SCHOOLS

The Daily Pilot, in a local war on poverty type editorial, tells us that we should all chip in and help the non-English speaking students in the NMUSD (NMUSD?  Actually, most are in Costa Mesa schools and they're here in our city precisely because of the stupid attitudes such as those shown in the DP editorial).

A better position is to kick all the illegal aliens out of Costa Mesa and pull in the welcome mat.  Then, the
schools will improve.

Does anyone with a three digit I.Q. still think these liberal false ideas--these war on poverty beliefs--make any sense?  How many times do these things have to fail for some to understand that this is the wrong approach.

And, how much lower must Costa Mesa fall before all the upwardly mobile people flee this city?

BLOND HAIR EVOLVED SEPARATELY IN EUROPE AND IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC

The few natural blonds from the South Pacific have a mutation of a gene on Chromosome 9 in which the "C" is changed to a "T."

European blonds do not have that particular mutation.

COSTA MESA CITY COUNCIL TALKS THE TALK, BUT OFTEN FAILS TO WALK THE WALK

As steady readers  know, the CM PRESS has been a strong supporter of the things that we believe the good Councilmembers want.  We like the way they talk.

However, we're not seeing all the nice talk followed up with competent, timely actions.

If we were to grade the Council, we'd probably give them an A for talk, but a D for competent and correct actions.

These aren't the first Councilmembers that we've graded this way.  You may recall that we helped an unelectable guy get elected several years ago.  We did so based on his talk.

Unfortunately, once he got on the dais he couldn't walk the walk and blamed others for this. When we'd talk to him about not doing the right things or about his screwed up priorities and other problems he'd just continue to blow smoke. He no doubt thought we were buying the smoke.  We weren't.

We generally try to be polite to our elected officials when we talk to them, so we didn't come right out and tell him he was full of crap and that we weren't buying the excuses, but we tried to gently let him know this. He didn't listen and continued on along his failed path.

Finally, we had to join with others to unelect this guy at the first opportunity, which was the next election.

WU WHO?

JACK WU PROVES AGAIN THAT A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IS A DANGEROUS THING

In Wu's latest silly column, Wu takes Newport Beach to task for having too many employees.  He then compares Newport to several other cities and he even makes a half hearted attempt to compare apples and apples by bringing in Huntington Beach since, as with Newport, that city has beaches to maintain and this takes extra personnel.

What Wu apparently doesn't know or forgets to mention is that when you compare Newport to Costa Mesa (which he also does), that Newport looks as though it has more employees  per resident than Costa Mesa but it's not an apples to apples comparison.

Why?

Simple.  Newport has its own water department--Costa Mesa has a separate  mini-government that handles that.  Newport picks up its own trash--Costa Mesa has a separate mini-government that farms that out.  Newport handles its own sewer issues--Costa Mesa uses the same  separate mini-government to do this that also outsources our trash pickup.

Add in all the people from these mini-governments in Costa Mesa and the outsourced employees (who we all pay) who work for them, and you'll more than likely find that Costa Mesa has more people working to provide necessary services to the residents than does Newport Beach, AND you'll find that when you do include these mini-governments, that Costa Mesa is top heavy with paper pushing executives who do little except go to trade shows and cash their checks (and email the CM PRESS trying to justify all the bloat).

In fact, the two separate  mini-governments in Costa Mesa each have five elected officials and administrative employees to service their needs. And, instead of sharing office space in City Hall, they have their own buildings.

This guy Wu is going to give conservatives a bad name with his lousy dumb-ass columns.
