UPDATE OF JEFFREY HARLAN COLUMN (see below):  


Be sure to read the comments following Harlan's stupid column from the usual low I.Q. types who comment negatively on everything the good Councilmembers do.  


Most are whining about developers.  Hey, dopes, who the hell do you think built the houses you are living in? Do do you think your houses just grew like mushrooms after a rain?


A developer had to buy the land, go through the entitlement process, build the homes and then sell them.  And, it was a risk to do all that.  The real estate market often changes while a developer is going through the long process of building homes, and developers do catch the real estate cycle wrong some times and  lose their shirts.


Maybe you jerks can track down the developers who built your houses and tell them you'd like the developers to tear down your houses because you morons don't like developers and would rather live in empty fields with no houses.

Once again, you can tell that this guy is stretching to find something to write about, and then he stretches to fill a whole column while saying little but giving readers vague talk about values, which he does not define, but which we might assume are his values, whatever they are.

We might then surmise that Harlan wants us all to accept his values (again, whatever those are).  Hey, Harlan, go live in Irvine, that's where that sort of thing is done.

We're actually taking Costa Mesa in a more organic direction with different neighborhoods with different values to suit different tastes.
