FITZPATRICK SEEING RED AND NOT EASILY PUT OUT ON THE CURB BY SANITARY DISTRICT CLIQUE

Here's a statement put out by Jim Fitzpatrick today:

FITZPATRICK RETAINS LEGAL COUNSEL TO FIGHT THE RAILROAD JOB

“Today I retained Steve Baric, (http://bamlawyers.com/partners/steve-baric/) the highly respected government and elections law attorney, to defend me against the orchestrated railroad job by my colleagues to kick me off the Costa Mesa Sanitary District’s board of directors. I was elected with 11,783 votes in 2010 and I’ll be darned if four votes and a half-baked legal opinion can trump the electorate. I am outspoken and uncomfortable for my colleagues because I have called for competitive bidding for a trash contract that has not been opened to the market since 1943. That’s not a typo – Costa Mesa’s residential trash contract has not been bid out since World War II! I will always fight for the taxpayers even if it means upsetting the sweetheart deals others have cut.”

Naturally, the above leads us to once again link to The Dropkick Murphys with their song THE WARRIOR'S CODE.

NEW PROJECT FOR NEWPORT BEACH WOULD LOOK NICE ON TEN ACRES OF DIRT ON MONROVIA IN COSTA MESA

Take a look at the rendering in the above linked article.  It looks almost exactly the same as photos and renderings we've sent to the Costa Mesa City Council as ideas of how some of the Westside can be improved.

It just takes a developer to come forward with something like this for our city--perhaps with a little nudging from the Council.

And, to those who are against developers, please tell us who you think built the home you're living in right now.  Here's your answer:  a developer.  And, that developer took a risk to build your home.  If the market crashed, he may have lost his shirt.

GENERAL BOYKIN BELIEVES IRAN ALREADY HAS A NUKE

The CM PRESS previously said the same thing. Our guess is that if they do have a nuke, they may not have built it but bought it from a nuke country (Pakistan, North Korea, ?).  Our guess is just based on common sense reasoning, and you may have already guessed the same thing.

HELP WANTED:  CAN YOU CLIMB A LADDER AND HOLD A HOSE?

If so, the citizens of Costa Mesa may pay you $340,000 per year.

Who'd a thunk that the citizens of Costa Mesa were so rich that they pay their help so much?  What?  You mean that's many times more than what the average citizen of Costa Mesa makes?  Go figure.

Who supports such outrageous pay?  Many of the same numbnuts who oppose a charter.  Stupid is as stupid does.

IF THE NUMBNUTS WHO ARE TRYING TO STOP THE CHARTER WERE AROUND IN THE PAST

"PHARAOH, DON'T LET MY PEOPLE GO.  Those calling for freedom are going too fast.  It's this guy Moses who is doing all this.  It's his idea.  Listen to the people, Pharaoh, we want you to keep telling us what to do. Moses isn't listening to us.  We keep telling him we don't want to be free, but he won't listen. He's arrogant. His Ten Commandments are a cut and paste job. We can't possibly understand ten commandments in such a short time. We need years to read them and understand them."

"KING GEORGE, DON'T LET THE AMERICAN COLONIES BE FREE.  It's Thomas Jefferson and Hamilton and Paine and Franklin and some others who are trying to do this.  They should have an elected committee of regular people--you know, the ones who can't read or who can't understand what they read--sit around for several years trying to come up with a Declaration of Independence.  This thing that Jefferson and the other boys have come up with is a cut and paste job based on the Magna Carta and the ideas coming out of France from the Marquis de Lafayette.  We're different and we're unique and we don't want no friggin' cut and paste job. We're special. We want you people in England to keep making the rules for us in America."

"PRESIDENT LINCOLN, DON'T FREE THE SLAVES. We're not against freedom, but just this freedom. Mr. President, plese listen to us House Negroes, not the Negroes in the fields who want freedom.  We're not ready for this.  This Emancipation Proclamation is a cut and paste job.  Please listen to us and have an elected committee of House Negroes work on a document.  Slow down, President Lincoln.  What's the rush?  You're trying to shove this freedom stuff down our throats.  We need time to read this document, it's a whole one page long."

  1. You do know that the passing of the charter will have no bearing on the existing contracts with public safety. The council had the opportunity to contract with the OCFA, yet they chose to stay with the status quo, which requires minimum staffing and thus creates the OT problem. Righeimer whines about the problem, but yet offers no solutions. Police and Fire get a sweet deal, but they are not on the chopping block. Why is that? Laying off some maintenance workers will not have any significant effect on the city's future salary and and pension costs. The real savings is in public safety and yet they do nothing. You also must think it is ok that Hatch hired those new executives like Lobdell, Joyce and Francis before the new pension rate of 2% at 60 was implemented for new hires. Complain all you want about Leece, but Righeimer and company are not the saviors you make them out to be.

  2. To Sam: My position is that government that is closest to the people is best--that's the main reason why I support the charter.

As far as the expensive hires at City Hall, I've written against doing that.

Yes, the real savings are in public safety, and my guess is that we may see changes.

Wendy is on the wrong track. She's become a give them a fish and not a fish hook politician.
