WE GET SOME ANSWERS FROM BILL LOBDELL ABOUT THE POMONA SCHOOL EVENT TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 9

CM PRESS (CMP): Who is behind this?
BILL LOBDELL (BL): Councilwoman Wendy Leece, with the help of the Mika Foundation.

CMP: What officials from the City will attend? Which police department officials will attend?
BL: To date, Lt. Robert Sharpnack, who oversees Westside, and Sgt. Julian Trevino, who does problem-oriented policing for the Westside, are scheduled to attend.

CMP: Which officials from the schools will attend?
BL: Don’t know.

CMP: Which officials from which nonprofits will attend?
BL:  Don’t know.

CMP: Is this a City sanctioned event?
BL: No.

CMP: What "Westside issues" will be on the agenda?
BL: I believe the town hall meeting is being geared toward public safety/neighborhood safety issues.

There you have it.  Wendy Leece is apparently hooking up with MIKA, which is run by Crissy Brooks, to hold this event.

As you know, Crissy Brooks wrote a column about how she went to Tijuana to cry with illegal aliens who had been arrested and deported from the Westside. She even told them that "the church in Costa Mesa is standing with them and their families."  HERE you can read all about it in CM PRESS # 634.

We don't know how Wendy Leece's supporters who say they are against illegal immigration and  for the improvement of the Weside can continue to support her.

Westside improvers work hard to improve the Westside and then they see their efforts being undercut by Wendy Leece (who makes a big deal about living on the Westside, but who actually lives in a gated community that might as well be in Beverly Hills).

If anyone thinks the Westside can be improved while at the same time the area is kept as an illegal alien sanctuary and ethnic ghetto, they need their heads examined.

And, if anyone thinks this townhall isn't a thinly disguised political event to try to build support to defeat improvement and the good councilmembers, they need an I.Q. infusion.

WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR MORE INFO FROM BILL LOBDELL ABOUT THE CITY'S MEETING COMING UP AT POMONA SCHOOL...BUT IN THE MEANTIME, HERE ARE SOME FACTS ABOUT POMONA SCHOOL

464 Students
98% Hispanic
  0% White
85% English Learners
100% Socioeconomically Disadvantaged
From the NMUSD School Accountability Report Card HERE.

Pomona school doesn't reflect the demographics of Costa Mesa--and not even the demographics of the Westside as a whole.

So, why is the City holding a meeting there supposedly about the Westside?  And, why is the City giving out door prizes?  Is this a big love fest for illegal aliens?  Is this to let illegal aliens know the Westside will be turned into a permanent ethnic ghetto and a sanctuary for them?

Look folks, the reason the  improvement movement started in Costa Mesa was to improve our almost on the beach city that is right next to Newport Beach.

The Westside is the key to improving all of Costa Mesa.  Fix the Westside and the rest of the city will fall into place.

A few years ago, a resident of Corona del Mar actually had the nerve to come to a Costa Mesa City Council meeting and tell the Council that she wanted the Westside to be like Huntington Park. She even had plans on how to do it.  We kid you not!

For those not in the know, Huntington Park is not in Huntington Beach.  It is up in Los Angeles near Watts and Compton.  It is a slum city and an ethnic ghetto.

Huntington Park is not a good model for the Westside.  In fact, it may be the worst possible model.

Right now, the City has the Westside plans that were formulated a few years ago.  These plans show the correct way forward.  They need to be implemented.

Hungary's new constitution protects the life of the unborn and starts to erode other left wing anti-life, anti-nature, and society destroying schemes and programs that have snuck into various nations in the past several decades under the guise of human rights.

WE'VE BEEN PROMISED SOME ANSWERS TODAY

After many emails, telephone calls and a personal visit to City Hall yesterday seeking answers, we've learned officially that the City of Costa Mesa is the party that reserved the space at Pomona school for the event below.  And, that's about all we've learned officially.

Bill Lobdell has promised to give us some answers today.

We have many questions about this event, in addition to the ones we previously asked.  Here are some of these new questions:

Who came up with the idea for this meeting?
Why do they want this meeting?
Why now?
Who selected Pomona school instead of a more central location?
Who is paying for the door prizes and food?
Who is making the phone calls, etc. to organize this meeting?
What is this meeting costing us?
Will anti-Improvement types and those with political/social agendas be allowed to set up tables and recruit people?
Who has invited some non-profits and why these non-profits to participate?

We'll let you know what we learn.

If you just came in, here's the story in the CEO's briefing that got us curious.
[From Costa Mesa's CEO's Briefing # 17 of October 21]

"A Costa Mesa town hall meeting to discuss Westside issues is
planned for [Wednesday] Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Pomona Elementary School.
Officials from the City, police department, schools and
nonprofits will be on hand to talk with residents about how to
improve the community. The evening will also feature light
refreshments and door prizes"

  1. CM Press, thank you for staying on the Westside meeting. Something seems fishy. Will this just be another love-fest with undertones of trashing our improvement Council? Will the lefty loons be able to table for their political causes?

  2. Martin, I expect more from you - higher standards - that's why I read this blog and am suspicious about everything West writes. But today you wrote about Pomona students, "100% Socioeconomically Disadvantaged" and entered it as though it was taken from the Pomona SARC. No such data appears on the SARC and unless you have a source for this, please present this as an opinion, not a sourced fact. Leave the trashy writing to West.

  3. Aren't you the who rants about City employees that don't live in the City? Even though those employees purchase gas, lunch, groceries, etc. on a daily basis in this city! If you want the employees to be from this City, then you would have a ton of Hispanics working at City Hall. Is that what you want?

You always complain about all the Hispanics in town & in our school's, yet you want the employees to be from this City, which is mostly Hispanic! What a hypocrite.

  4. Facts, not fiction: Go to page 2 of 10 of the SARC for Pomona. Look at the columns on your right. The CM PRESS figures are correct.

Dave: Yup,I'm the one who rants about the city hiring locals. Nope, the city is not mostly Hispanic. If you lived here you might know that. I complain about the illegals in town, not Hispanics.
