CM PRESS # 528

MINI-GOVERNMENTS ROBBING US BLIND

Read this expose in the OC REGISTER [HERE] and see if your blood doesn't boil.

The article says that the general manager of the Mesa Consolidated Water District receives  $ 278,424 a year in compensation.

Look folks,  the CM PRESS has been warning you for years about these mini governments--we have two of them in Costa Mesa; three, if you count the NMUSD (which is still paying a superintendent who is on leave due to legal problems): The Mesa Consolidated Water District and the Costa Mesa Sanitary District.  Each one of these mini-governments  has their own version of a city council.

When we've gone to Water District and Sanitary District meetings, we're usually the only ones there.

By the way, did you get the postcard about your water rates going up?  You can protest, but you may be the only one doing so.  People are apathetic and they just don't bother complaining or protesting.

IS IT TIME TO OUTSOURCE THE POLICE?

Many citizens of Costa Mesa fear that simply reorganizing the CMPD and hiring a new police chief may not be enough to get a police force that is trusted.

When trust is once lost, it's hard to regain.

UPDATE:  According to the Daily Pilot [HERE], Mr. Mensinger didn't file a police report with the CMPD.

Hmmm.  Now, why wouldn't he file a report with a department that has cops who come to our city and drag political signs behind their cars and that has some nutcases who write hate comments in the Daily Pilot and some who reveal internal CMPD business and some who try to elect puppets to the city council and some who refuse to even give proper descriptions of outstanding violent criminals running around our streets?

Maybe he just doesn't trust the CMPD?

BREAKING NEWS---HATE CRIME-ATTACK AGAINST COUNCIL MEMBER MENSINGER LAST NIGHT

The CM PRESS is getting early reports that haters and bigots attacked Council member Mensinger's home last night and did damage with painted slogans, apparently on his car(s) and on material used for Pop Warner football.

We are seeking confirmation and photos if available.

We know some are calling for the FBI to investigate this hate crime, but so far the CMPD says it can investigate it.  Right.  That's what they say.

By the way, the CMPD still hasn't found the person(s) who attacked Mayor Monahan's bar.

Can the CMPD be trusted to investigate this latest hate crime against a Council member?

Remember, some people who claim they're cops and who seem to have inside CMPD information have been posting hate comments in the Daily Pilot.  How about investigating them?

YOU AIN'T SEEN NUTHIN' IF YOU AIN'T SEEN A MARINE EXPEDITONARY UNIT ON THE ATTACK--IT'S LIKE A HOT KNIFE THROUGH BUTTER IN ITS SPEED, AND IT'S LIKE A WELL CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE IN ITS EFFICIENCY

However, the first troops who should be pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan should be the Marines.

Marines are not the right troops to be used to hold ground.  That's the job of the Army.

On the other hand, if the U.S. gets serious and decides to really go after Qaddafi in Libya, an MEU would be the right choice.  Wham, bam, thank you Ma'am.  Job done.

Wikipedia on an MEU.

THE PARITY SCAM EXPLAINED

Some people argue that Costa Mesa doesn't pay its employees too much and that their pension plans are in line with those of some other nearby cities.

This can  be called the parity scam.

What happens is that the employee unions try to buy a city council in one city in a geographic area by helping elect their paid union shills.  The bought and paid for city council then does the unions' bidding.

So, for example, if the unions are successful in getting their shills in the majority on a council  in  City A, their paid shills on the Council will give the union employees raises and expanded benefits.

Then, the union members in City B, will whine that they need parity with City A.

Next, the union members in Cities C, D, E, F, and on and on, will all demand parity with Cities A and B.

This is how the parity scam works and all it takes is for the unions to get control of one city council in a geographic area to start the ball rolling.

In a city with five council members, all the union has to do is elect three shills.  When they have only one shill, as we should all know, the scam doesn't work or it may be stopped.

ACCOUNTANT WANTS UTAH RESIDENTS TO PAY HIS FLDS LAND TRUST DEBTS

Background and summary: The Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints or Fundamentalist Mormons follow the original teachings of the early Mormon church.

The states of Utah, Arizona and Texas have been persecuting them for their beliefs.

A few years ago, a Utah judge put a non FLDS accountant in charge of FLDS property.  The accountant promptly ran up millions of dollars in debts.

Some believe this was a calculated and deliberate attempt to bankrupt and destroy the FLDS.

The FLDS refuses to pay him and they say that the judge and the accountant have violated their religious beliefs in what they have done.

The CM PRESS has gone to many Costa Mesa City Council meetings in which we've suggested to prior Councils that they should have staff stop putting BS and eyewash in the agendas and other reports.

We've told the Councils that if we were on the dais we wouldn't accept some of the reports that they are expected to read and that we'd return them to staff.

Our dictums: Make your reports short and put your most important points first.  Use simple declarative sentences.  Break up large paragraphs.

One shouldn't have to read a report several times to coax the correct meaning out of it.

A single page should be adequate to present most issues to the Council.

The assertions on that single page may be backed up by additional pages if necessary, but these additional pages are just supporting data.

Those are our opinions.  Thanks for reading them.

  1. The city might want to consider offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of these vandals and/or the names of anyone who may have been partying with the city employee who died in March. Sometimes money can move mountains.
