KID ON BIKE HIT BY CAR HARBOR/BAKER LAST NIGHT?
Word on the street is that a kid on a bike was hit by a car near Harbor and Baker last night. We have no other information and we didn't see anything in the papers. If you know anything, please use our comments section to pass on information.

FBI VIOLENT CRIME RATES REPORTED IN DAILY PILOT

Santa Ana is the worst, Irvine is the best, Costa Mesa needs some work. Generally, cities in our area with higher rates of illegal aliens are more dangerous.

If Costa Mesa truly does pull in the welcome mat for illegal aliens, our violent crime rate should drop.

And, to repeat what we've written many times: Some of our local politicians say Costa Mesa is not a sanctuary city but then they give our tax money to some non-profits that welcome illegal aliens here.

And, once the illegal aliens are here, these non-profits feed them, help them with their rent payments, help them with groceries and on and on.

So, which is it? Are we a rule-of-law city that does not welcome illegal aliens or are we a sanctuary city?

Maybe some of our local politicians can try to develop a little mouth/hand coordination so that their actions match their words.
