The information on the homicide in an apartment across from OCC is coming from the OC REGISTER. The DAILY PILOT hasn't reported anything on this as far as we can tell.

HMMM. STEVE SMITH AT THE DAILY PILOT SOUNDS A LITTLE LIKE US
Link

Well, at least he does when he points out that talk is cheap (our words, not his), and that if the Council is going to talk the talk on illegal aliens, it should walk the walk (again, our words, not Smith's).

But two things about Smith's column need clarification.

Firstly, Smith points out that Flopsy Katrina Foley wasn't there for the vote naming Costa Mesa a Rule-of-Law city.

But, what Smith forgot to tell readers is that Flopsy had been there at the meeting and on the dais all evening, but left the meeting shortly before the vote on this issue.

Why didn't Smith tell readers about Flopsy ducking out this way? Well, it's probably because he's a Foley supporter.

Secondly, Smith tells readers that illegal aliens are still going to school, still soliciting work, etc. and that nothing has changed since the Council voted to make Costa Mesa a rule-of-law city.

But, what Smith didn't mention is a point that the CM PRESS constantly makes--the Council continues to fund non-profits that help suspected illegal aliens and which, in some cases, don't help anyone in the city but Hispanics and which are acting as magnets for illegal aliens.

Some of the bigs in some of these non-profits are Foley supporters and they are actively working against the will of the majority of the Council and the majority of citizens in this City who want to improve Costa Mesa and not let it slide further into the Santa Ana hole.

Why didn't Smith mention anything about these non-profits? Well, it's probably because he supports the non-profits that won't accept non-Hispanics but which do help suspected illegal aliens.

Now, we don't think Smith really wants the Council to take action, but his column sounds like he's daring Mansoor and company to do that. Will the dare be taken up? Time will tell.

DAILY PILOT HAS NO REPORT THIS MORNING ON HOMICIDE OF YOUNG WOMAN IN COSTA MESA

Yesterday, the CM PRESS linked [HERE] to a report in the OC Register about the homicide of a young woman in an apartment across the street from OCC.

The CMPD released almost no information about this homicide and the Daily Pilot hasn't even reported on it.

Shouldn't the public be informed about this?

Is there a murderer running around the area? Or, was this the result of some sort of one-on-one dispute or activity between people who knew each other such that the public need not be concerned that others are at risk?

If the CM PRESS learns anything, we'll let you know.

Doesn't Louisiana know that this is a federal problem and that it should do nothing unless and until the feds do something?

Why, a state taking responsibility for protecting its own citizens is positively Arizonian.
