What does the California White Legislative Caucus have to say about that? Oh, right, there is no White Legislative Caucus. So, who represents White interests?

DR. PHLOX TO RUN THE COSTA MESA FAIRGROUNDS?
Alright, you have to admit there's a slight resemblance. Beam down below to the story about Costa Mesa's partner in the, ah, enterprise involving the Fairgrounds. Could it be that this deal that proceeded at warp speed was in the stars?

SANTA ANA COLLEGE WANTS TO GIVE SCHOLARSHIPS TO ILLEGAL ALIENS
Congressman Rohrabacher doesn't like it, and neither should you. Link
In the above linked article, you'll read "According to a news release announcing the scholarship, it will be the Santa Ana College Foundation that will create the award so presumably no public dollars will be used for the prize."
Baloney. Even if no public dollars are directly used (and we doubt this), money is fungible and the foundation is one big pot.
If the foundation sets up this scholarship for illegals, it will have less money to do what it should be doing for legal residents. Then, down the road, it may seek more money to fill the hole created with such a scholarship.
In one way or another the money in the foundation--which, remember, owes its entire existence to its link to a public college funded by taxpayers--has a public money impact.
In addition, tax deductible contributions to the foundation gives a tax break to those so donating and this diverts money that would have gone into the tax coffers into the foundation.
We heard a cousin to the above "no public dollars" argument right from a member of the Costa Mesa City Council when we told the council that it shouldn't be giving our tax dollars to non-profits that help illegal aliens and which don't look like Costa Mesa.
The Councilperson replying, said (paraphrasing here): Well, the money we're giving to the non-profits goes into programs within the non-profits that help children, and do not directly help illegal aliens.
That's silly reasoning. It'd be a little like saying it's okay to give money to a company that makes gas chambers to kill innocent people because the division of the company you're giving money to makes dog food. Ultimately, it's all one pot.
The point is that no matter what accounting system and artificial walls are created, all the money goes into one pot that pays salaries, goes to overhead, etc. in one way or another and this money should not be used to help illegal aliens.

SO WHY DOESN'T COSTA MESA ADVERTISE ITSELF?
Recently, we've heard calls from some nanny government types who want to raise fees on businesses in Costa Mesa so government programs (that often help illegal aliens) can keep being funded and so government can keep getting bigger.
The nanny government types often begin with "Costa Mesa has the lowest fees on businesses of any city in Orange County and we should raise them."
Ah, having the lowest fees isn't a negative. It's a positive. The problem is that the City doesn't seem to be advertsing this fact far and wide. It should do so:
COSTA MESA
The Best Place in California to live and do Business...
--Did you know that Costa Mesa has the lowest business fees of any city in Orange County?
--Did you know that Costa Mesa is just minutes from the beach, but has little beach traffic?
--Did you know that you can go snow skiing in the morning in mountains that can be seen from Costa Mesa; go surfing in the afternoon; and still have time to go to an opera or a play in the evening?
--etc.
Okay, you get the idea. The above should be followed by some actual facts and figures on the low cost of doing business in Costa Mesa.

These senators are saying that because they disagree with the actions of one man they are willing to punish a whole community.Costa Mesa has 220,000 residents and that's not including all the people in our sister cities that also enjoy the Orange County Fair and fairground activites. Their actions are childish and self serving.
