Yup. People tend to give equal weight to the opinions of really stupid people and really smart people.
We see this more in the Internet age where every dope can give an opinion on every subject.
And, we see this right here in Costa Mesa where the haters (who really are mostly very low I.Q. drooling types) constantly give their pedestrian and boring opinions on every subject and then have those useless opinions given equal weight with those from more competent people.
For example, there is one hate blog here in Costa Mesa and a few hate facebook pages where the same dopes who act like fools at city council meetings constantly give opinions about things they know nothing about.
All opinions should not be given equal weight. People and peoples are not all the same.
