TARGET HAS TOLD AROUND 1,700 EMPLOYEES THAT THEY'RE BEING LAID OFF--SO FAR, NONE OF THEM HAVE JUMPED OFF A ROOF
Maybe part of the reason is that Target executives didn't tell all of their employees that they were part of a very tight and special family--as at least one former councilperson did with Costa Mesa employees.
Losing your job is one thing, but losing your very tight and special family can cause some on the brink to go over the brink.
Also, the implications of the overly gushy family talk could lead some employees to think they have life time guaranteed jobs, when they don't.
By the way, the local haters in Costa Mesa who are using a man's suicide for political reasons are beneath contempt. Spit when you hear any of their names. They are disgusting human beings.

HUMANS MAY HAVE EVOLVED WITH PLANT GENES
The real story here is how organisms may adapt and evolve in various niches, not only by acquiring genes from other organisms, but also by acquiring some of the characteristics of so-called non-living things in their environment.
I've written elsewhere about this unproven and controversial idea of this possibility, as an additional way life evolves and adapts and I've cited examples of mimicry in which certain organisms have the appearance of rocks or of sticks and leaves or other background things where they live. 
Natural selection, by contrast, and which is the widely accepted view, holds that such animal mimicry is simply a result of certain of these organisms evolving to look like rocks or sticks or leaves because those born who had such appearance survived longer and produced more offspring, and over the centuries there was a stronger and stronger tilt toward looking ever more like the background of where these organisms live.# #

the city employee who jumped had many issues we will not ever know of. we do know he was taken aside at work due to poor work habits, being sleepy, and that autopsy showed cocaine. very sad. hundreds of thousands of people got laid off during that recession. very few killed themselves. teachers get layoff notices all the time in case funding does not go through and most are hired back. he was not being laid off. he was given notice of the possibility. did he rally and work hard to save his job? no. darker things took over. let his family rest in peace. the other blogger acts like it was murder and if his family reads his blog gets to be reminded of that day every year by the blogger. not cool. but , then again, we know he has no feelings for mankind, just gets joy at attacking people. he will answer to God for his life's work.
