Grand opening Saturday for new townhomes
Brandywine Homes will hold a grand opening Saturday for Seabright, a new 26-unit development in Costa Mesa's Westside.
The townhomes, on a 1.42-acre lot at 2019 Anaheim Ave., replaced an 18-unit apartment complex. Prices start in the $600,000s.
Seabright's units contain two bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms and range from 1,599 to 1,727 square feet.
"Where else in Orange County can you find a townhome community where units have rear yards, a gated entry, a community pool and easy access to nearby beaches and shopping?" Dave Barisic, vice president of sales and marketing for Irvine-based Brandywine, said in a statement.

Why? Because nature constantly tinkers with life and tweaks older forms into newer ones that have adaptations that make them better for certain conditions.
Evolution never stops because we do not live in a static universe. So long as there is movement, there is change and so long as there is change there is need to adapt.
In thinking about life, it is sometimes helpful to think in terms of a "life force" that "wants" to expand life into every niche where some form of energy can be found to provide what is needed, not only to fuel the life processes, but to make the organisms that live in these niches "happy" and comfortable to live there.
And, in thinking along these lines, one must also consider that the "life force" doesn't much care which form of life exists so long as life itself--any form of life--exists. It is up to sentient life to take care of itself and make sure that it is the type that continues to exist.
In other words, nature has defaults to automatically carry life to a certain stage, and when that stage is reached (which we humans have reached), the life at that stage must take over if it hopes to increase the odds of its survival or it can simply continue to let nature blindly do what it will. If the latter path is chosen, life at that jumping off stage may or may not survive. It may prevail or it may automatically be replaced by a better adapted organism or version of itself. However, if that life understands how nature works and what is best for itself, it may take manual control and steer itself along a path where it is not replaced, but adapts and evolves.

The headline about having 1,000 genes that you don't need is misleading. Nature is a frugal engineer and there is a logical reason about what it builds. It is up to us to find why nature has engineered something in flesh this way or the other.
In a related vein, it was reported recently that scientists have finally figured out why certain species of mushrooms glow green in the dark. This was something that people at least since, and including, Aristotle, wondered about.
For many decades it was just assumed that the green glow was a byproduct of the metabolism of the mushrooms. Then some scientists designed some phony mushrooms with internal green lights and observed them. What they learned was that certain insects were drawn to the green glowing lights, and these insects were ones that helped spread spores from the mushrooms, thus allowing the mushrooms to follow nature's command to go forth and multiply your kind. (Yes, nature had that command long before the Bible.)

the hate stirrer really seems upset with you. jealous too. seems that if anyone posts in the pilot and he does not like it then he replies with his usual snarkiness and then throws some connection to you in as an addition. he feels you call the shots here in costa mesa and any person who posts has received direction from you. he is obsessed with you. pretty funny. he also is looking at a lawsuit soon I would think. he definitely should be kicked off the pilot comments if he keeps it up if the pilot wants to remain relevant. they need to follow own rules. all comments should be reviewed before the post is made. hate blogger needs to address the column and the people who post. period. it looks like he is cracking as he realizes he has no influence despite spending many hours on his quest for personal destruction of people who disagree with him. also, it seems like the haters are having a difficult time finding things to complain about. thus the number of records requests at city hall costing us thousands as they go on a "gotcha" hunt. seems they don't have much else going on in their lives or fancy themselves as some sort of private eyes. funny.
