CITY COUNCIL AGENDA FOR TONIGHT'S MEETINGThe Council will make appointments to various committees tonight. Of particular note are the appointments to the Housing and Public Service Grant Committee (formerly the 3R Committee).
This is the committee that has had too many neurotic pathological altruists on it over the years who can't wait to give away your money to charity bosses who show up and who don't want you to know about the great salaries and benefits they make off their charity work.
These folks want to grow their charity businesses, and this is done by attracting ever more people to Costa Mesa who need freebies.
What this committee should be, but isn't, is a watchdog over your money to make sure every single penny goes to help improve Costa Mesa and is not just going into charity magnets.
Hey, Charity Bosses, you want to give away money? Give away your own money. And, please go to some other city to do it.
