The latest Rover is to land (or crash if things don't go right) on Mars this Sunday.
Now, dear readers, we know that on Earth, most life requires water. We also know that solid water is ice.
We also know that there is ice on Mars at the poles. We also suspect that this ice melts from time to time producing liquid water. We also suspect that there may be liquid water under the soil.
So, where is our latest multi-billion dollar Rover going to land? Why, far away from any ice in an area that is more like the Arizona desert--but drier.

GUY WRITES A COLUMN IN THE DAILY PILOT IN WHICH IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH HE WANTS GOD TO OVERCOME THE BAD [Councilmembers]
Be sure to read the above column but have your barf bag ready.
On the one hand this guy tells us he's not in favor of "In God We Trust" on the wall of the City Council chambers, like, you see, he wants you to know that he's not overly religious.
See, he's setting you up to believe he's not, golly gee, a natural ally of Goslow Wendy Leece, no sir. Not him. No way. Nope.
But he talks (with moist eyes and a sense of religious awe?) about the sun coming up as he and his daughter stop by City Hall on their way to the airport to pray because a guy committed suicide there. (You get the sun rising over Golgotha imagery, of course.)
Huh? What the hell? Like that's something most people do while going to the airport?
You have to picture this guy standing there with moist eyes and his head facing heavenward. Good grief!
Oh yeah, he does praise Wendy Leece. Yup, why, she's the only good Councilmember, by gum. Why, she supports our employees (read she wants to supersize government and hire redundant employees).

KRUPP DROPS OUT
Too bad he didn't stay in. You never know who might have been watching to take more of the measure of the man and who might have gotten behind his candidacy after a debate or two.
Perhaps dropping out this way is an indication that Krupp doesn't understand how politics works in Costa Mesa and that he doesn't realize where the real power lies.
The Daily Pilot article seems to indicate that Krupp put all his eggs in one basket--trying to get the endorsement of that astro-turf CMFROG group. Big mistake.
If Krupp knew the players in Costa Mesa he would have realized that this group is just the latest incarnation of the same small group of lefties that pop up during every election but with a different group name each time.
Pretending that they were looking at different candidates was just a show.
They make a lot of noise and put out slick literature and get money from those who are against improving Costa Mesa, and then their anointed candidates usually lose the elections.
CMFROG has no mojo.
