CM PRESS # 944

STEVE SMITH HAS A COLUMN IN THE DAILY PILOT IN WHICH HE TALKS ABOUT THE FAILING SCHOOLS IN COSTA MESA BUT BLAMES THE SCHOOL BOARD FOR THIS

Smith's column is PC so it denies nature and argues that it's not the students who are to blame for getting lousy test scores, but rather it's the fault of  the school board or the teachers or the methods.

This is a corollary of the mistaken belief that all humans are the same.

Nature tells us, however, that race is to human as breed is to horse as variety is to rose.

Let me translate in other terms:

 Shire (very strong)

Thoroughbred  (very fast)
The Newport Beach Horse School has high ratings because all the Thoroughbred students run very fast. And, speed is the test given to horse students.

Meanwhile, over in certain Costa Mesa Horse Schools the ratings are very low because the Shire students don't run very fast.

No matter how many principals and teachers are changed in the Costa Mesa Horse Schools, and no matter how much money is thrown at those schools, and no matter how many new programs are tried, the Shires just can't ever run as fast as the Thoroughbreds.

Now, since all horses bleed red blood, what can we possibly believe is the problem in the Costa Mesa Horse schools?

Why, it must be the school board. Right?

GOOFY RT COLUMN ABOUT BOOZE AND RUSSIA'S DEMOGRAPHIC PROBLEM

Russia's demographic problem is that they're not making enough babies, but the above column is either suggesting that the real problem is too much booze in young hands or that booze in young hands is the cause of too few babies. (?)
