7:10--2/1/12--CMPD LOOKING FOR SUSPECT
[Following is from CMPD press release]

On 02-01-12, Officers were dispatched to the area of Tustin Avenue and 18th Street regarding suspicious activity involving 2 African American males in a red Volvo possibly selling drugs to the informant’s daughter.

The males immediately drove away in the Volvo and the informant followed them while relaying this information to the Costa Mesa Police Department. With the informant still following the vehicle, both males stopped the Volvo in front of Harper School at 425 E. 18th Street and fled on foot.

A record check revealed the Volvo was reported stolen from Costa Mesa on 01-19-12. Officers were immediately able to detain and arrest one of the males, identified as Adon Woodward.

A perimeter was set up for the second suspect and officers from the Newport Beach Police Department assisted with the search. The Huntington Beach Police helicopter also assisted with the search and provided periodic updates as well as announcements over their public address system.


The second suspect, identified as Anthony Thomas Guerrero, is currently outstanding. He is  [Black] approximately 5-7, 160 pounds, last seen wearing a plaid shirt and green pants. If you see someone matching this description please contact the local police department.

In Newport Beach but very close to the Costa Mesa border.  Look for retailers to open a few locations nearby--probably in Costa Mesa--to serve the needs of the students.  Sandwich shops? Coffee shops?
