CHICKEN LITTLES AT IT AGAIN OVER POSSIBLE CM AS CHARTER CITY

The usual sterile and dried up husks in human form, who seem to worry about everything, are it again over talk that Costa Mesa might become a charter city. 

This tiny gaggle of prune faced, sometimes pot bellied, weak kneed dimwits who constantly demonstrate why Costa Mesa isn't called Costa Mensa and who look like their shoes are too tight and their underwear too itchy are really funny to read and hear.

You can do your own imitation of these characters. Here's your lesson in method acting.  Stick out your stomach, shrink your shoulders toward your neck, let your jaw drop a little, put your knees together but keep your feet apart and now hold your nose real tight while whining: "I don't trust this City Council, they muth be up to thomthing devious."

If you will remember, it was almost all the same small clique that was afraid the city would burn down over the fourth and who promised dire things when the helicopter was grounded and on and on.

One has to wonder what happened to these people when they were young to make them so fearful of everything and to be so lifeless.  Did they shuffle along looking at the ground when they were kids instead of jumping and running and having fun?  Were they afraid of their own shadows? 

If we could tune into them when they were kids would we have heard them say something like: "I'm not gonna climb that tree like that Tommy or go down that slide like Jane, those things scare me."

It'd be an interesting study to see how many of these pitiful souls have had children. Might there be a correlation between their lifelessness and fear of everything and having children?

TIM TEBOW: A GENUINE NEW ORIGINAL?

The world is full of people doing things the expected way. 

Then, suddenly, someone appears who does things differently and succeeds even after the experts say he's doing it all wrong.  In music, Elvis was such a person when he first came on the scene.  Dick Fosbury, with his famous flop, was another. There are many other examples, but you get the picture.

Tim Tebow, the quarterback of the Denver Broncos, may be yet another person in this category. It's too soon to tell, but if his unconventional way of quarterbacking keeps working, he'll be inducted. In the meantime, his coaches have apparently given up on trying to teach Tebow the right way to quarterback.

This reminds me of the story of two holy men who were walking around a small deep lake one day when they heard another man on a small island in the middle of the lake praying aloud. 

The two holy men were angry because the guy on the island was doing it all wrong.  So, to chastise him, they got in a row boat and went out to the island where they instructed him on the right way to pray. 

Then, they got back in the row boat and were heading for shore when they heard a noise behind the row boat. When they turned around, they saw the guy from the island quickly walking across the top of the water to the boat.  When he got to the boat he said: "O Holy Men, I'm very sorry but I've already forgotten your instructions, can you please teach me the right way again?"

EGYPTIANS OUT IN THE STREETS AGAIN

As is so often the case when a powerful leader is overthrown, there is a vacuum created that is filled by a new powerful leader or leaders.  Mubarak was booted out of office, but now it appears that the military is trying to consolidate power in its hands.

The Muslim Brotherhood appears to be organizing the new protests, so don't be surprised if the military leaders try to cozy up to the U.S. to try to keep themselves in power. Because Israel doesn't want the Muslim Brotherhood to gain power, the U.S. may try to use some of its resources to try to keep the Muslim Brothers from taking over Egypt.

Lots of currents and cross currents and cross-cross currents in the region.  But there's nothing new it that.
