CITY COUNCIL TO OFFER IDEAS ON PROPOSED DENSE WESTSIDE PROJECT
At its October 6, 2009 regularly scheduled meeting, the Costa Mesa City Council will hear a screening request for a 44-unit, three story residential project being proposed for 573-591 Victoria Street (between Miner and Maple). LINK
The main problem that the CM PRESS sees with this project involves parking. There's not enough and its not configured properly. Hopefully, the Council will suggest that a few of the units be removed from the plan to accommodate more parking and will make a few other suggestions to make this a better project.
If done wrong, this could eventually turn into a slum. If done right, it can be a magnet for the upwardly mobile young professionals that the Westside needs to start evolving to being the great part of our city that it should be and can be.
