Folks, the CM PRESS attends lots of City Council meetings and at many of them we make the case for improving the Westside. But, we don't even live on the Westside, so if some of you Westsiders are getting fed up with do-nothing politicians like Wendy Leece, you should start attending City Council meetings and speaking out.

NATURAL SELECTION AT CNN
CNN has been a ratings joke for years. Now, a new guy is in charge and he's making long over due changes.
To those of us interested the fundamental processes of evolution--including non-organic, business evolution--watching it take place in a large company like CNN is as fun as watching a similar evolution in the world of football.
There is something essentially evolutionarily pure and almost mathematical in watching such things. In the case of CNN, the reality now (finally after years of doing nothing) is that if you can't do the job, as objectively shown by low ratings, you have no excuses, and you're replaced. No more free rides. Get an audience or scram.
It works the same way in football. Win the games or you're gone. No excuses. Win or beat it.
We wish the same thing could be said of politics in the U.S., but one of the many flaws in our now debased democracy is that things aren't run as efficiently as businesses or sports teams.
Instead of objective criteria deciding who stays and who goes, we have people clustered under the bell curve making the hiring and firing decisions of politicians, and often for emotional reasons that do not propel the collective enterprise forward for the best interests of the nation as a whole.
Inmates running the asylum is an apt phrase for American democracy in the 21st century.
Speaking of the asylum, be sure to read the comments following many articles that appear in the Daily Pilot. You'll see the usual lefty names over and over. One of the problems with the internet is that really stupid people can tap out their opinions and be taken seriously simply because they have done so, and then their moronic running dog friends chime in with attaboys.
