Then there's a letter from Jean Forbath [HERE] in which Ms. Forbath calls for affordable housing and more services for the homeless. Well, Ms. Forbath, how about putting in some of that homeless housing and providing services for the homeless near your home in Mesa Verde? Let me know, and I'll help you circulate petitions to your neighbors asking for homeless services in the parks in Mesa Verde.

Now, the British government keeps delaying her trial.
You know, of course, that England doesn't have a law that protects free speech, as we do in the U.S. with our 1st Amendment. When we split from England, we made sure we corrected that little matter.
Germany doesn't protect free speech either and the German government keeps sending people to prison for saying things the government doesn't want to hear. In fact, in Germany, if one even wonders aloud how six million Jews could be killed in tiny gas chambers, one will be sent to prison.

We hate to see anyone lose their job--especially one of our employees who actually lives here--and if this guy has a good record with the city, we'd like to see him keep his job if he offers up a heart felt apology and promises not to do anything like this again.
Then...
1. We'd like to see him go to anger management or similar counseling that he pays for.
2. We'd have him make restitution--not only for the signs he was caught destroying--but for many more as well.
3. Put him on probation for a year.
4. Have him take a college level course (over the internet is fine) on the Constitution.
Of course, if he doesn't have a good record with the city, and if he is suspected of other similar acts, then we wouldn't feel as compassionate.

The rights enunciated in the Bill of Rights are absolute. It is no accident that the Bill of Rights puts freedom of speech first and then the right to bear arms second.
The 2nd Amendment protects the 1st Amendment. That's why it's there.
THE BILL OF RIGHTS
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
