BLACKS ATTACKING WHITES IN IRELAND

Hey, Ireland, you bought that diversity is our strength nonsense, didn't you?  All you Irish, be sure to read the article below on the Gullibility Syndrome

GULLIBILITY SYNDROME

Yup, it's an actual psychological condition in which those who suffer from it have poor social intelligence and are easily tricked or manipulated into courses of action that are ill advised.

As we get closer to the election, the CM PRESS will try to help readers cut through the BS being put out by the manipulators who want us to vote for candidates who, if elected, will super-size government and who will hire hundreds of redundant workers who will treat us as their personal ATM machines.

Don't be gullible.  Vote for those who will really improve Costa Mesa.  This means vote for those who will give us the concrete improvements that we can actually see and touch.  Don't fall for the blather about needing more employees.

Don't fall for the favorite terms of the manipulators about all getting along and unity and trust and similar screwball misty eyed kumbaya nonsense.  These are BS words that are calculated to appeal to gullible people.

Here at the CM PRESS we are big believers in the old saying:  Give a man a fish and he'll be hungry tomorrow, but give him a fish hook and he'll never be hungry.

And, in our context, this means if we just keep hiring employees, we'll never see improvements to Costa Mesa, but if we put that money into improving the city by removing slums, making our street scapes better looking and doing similar things, we'll attract upwardly mobile young families here who will improve our demographics.

A city is its people.  Costa Mesa is competing with other cities for the best people--people who don't need welfare, who are self sufficient, who start and build businesses, who are professionals, who are high achievers.

Speaking of avoiding being tricked, be sure to read our rewrite of Harold Weitzberg's statement below.

WE REWRITE A STATEMENT BY HAROLD WEITZBERG

Harold Weitzberg wrote the following on his campaign Website:

Today, I was honored to have earned the endorsement of Costa Mesans for Responsible Government.    You can read their press release about their endorsement here.  For 18 months, this grassroots organization has led the charge against the flawed proposed charter.  I am looking forward to working with them in the next few weeks up to Election Day.

Here's our rewrite:

Today, I was honored to have earned  received the expected the endorsement of Costa Mesans for Responsible Government, which is run by Robin Leffler whose son is married to my daughter.    You can read their press release about their endorsement here.  For 18 months, this grassroots    astro-turf organization has led the charge against the flawed proposed charter.  been trying to make citizens think it is an important  grassroots group.  I am looking forward to working with them  my co-in-law Robin in the next few weeks up to Election Day.

WE'RE ALL FOR SAYING YOU WANT TO RUN THE CITY GOVERNMENT LIKE A BUSINESS, BUT YOU HAVE TO DO MORE THAN JUST TALK ABOUT IT

It's not very businesslike to not be able to put up a simple sign on W. 19th Street.

It's not very businesslike to hire layers of top paid executives, but not be able to have the Communications Director answer a simple email from the CM PRESS.

Calls himself The Pot Stirrer
Here's what the Pot, er, Stirrer wrote after the below linked article.

I especially liked Ooten's rejoinder.. ;-)  Way to go, Bob!

WHAT ARE WE TO MAKE OF BOB OOTEN'S APPARENT STATEMENT TO THE DAILY PILOT ABOUT JIM FITZPATRICK?

"… Screw him. I don't care what happens to him," Ooten said. "I like Jim as a person, but I don't like his actions."

And, why does the Costa Mesa Sanitary District want to get rid of Fitzpatrick so badly?

After all, Fitzpatrick was elected by the citizens of Costa Mesa and he has a fiduciary responsibility to make sure our money is being wisely spent.

As far as we can tell, Fitzpatrick is simply trying to get the district to follow common practice and get bids on its lucrative trash contract.

Be sure to read the entire Daily Pilot column by clicking on our headline above.
